THREE RESEARCHER POSITIONS AT THE EUROPEAN CENTRE FOR THEORETICAL STUDIES IN NUCLEAR PHYSICS AND RELATED AREAS (ECT*)
FBK is a private research institution based in Trento (Italy) and operating in different scientific fields and disciplines. As such, it has the role of keeping the Autonomous Province of Trento within the mainstream of international research. FBK is made up of eleven research centres, whose activities and production are available at http://www.fbk.eu/research-centers.

Workplace
Local research activities at ECT* focus on Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Computational Physics in the broadest sense. This includes related areas, such as theoretical high-energy physics, astrophysics, quantum simulations for strongly correlated quantum systems, condensed matter, and applications of nuclear physics. In addition, ECT* runs an annual programme of international meetings, including workshops, collaboration meetings, doctoral training programs and additional specialized courses. Currently ECT* hosts 5 permanent researchers, 5 postdoctoral researchers, the ECT* Director and 3 administrative staff members. In addition, ECT* has recently signed an agreement with the Physics Department of the University of Trento, to facilitate collaboration and provide access to common resources. Job Description
The successful candidates will be expected to conduct research within any of the fields of Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Computational Physics. Particular attention is given to research areas which enable collaboration with the researchers at the Centre. This includes Quantum Chromodynamics, quantum simulations for strongly correlated quantum systems, and hadron therapy.

Job Description
The successful candidates will be expected to conduct research within any of the fields of Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Computational Physics. Particular attention is given to research areas which enable collaboration with the researchers at the Centre. This includes Quantum Chromodynamics, quantum simulations for strongly correlated quantum systems, and hadron therapy.
The eligible candidates should have:
- Master Degree in Physics, Mathematics or other relevant degree;
- Research experience in any of the research topics mentioned above;
- Oral and written proficiency in the English language.
Additional requirements
- Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (to be awarded by the start date of the position).
Employment
- Type of contract: fixed term contract
- Working hours: full time
- Gross annual salary: approximately € 34.500)
- Start dates: One post may start preferably from January 2022, the other two positions from October 2022
- Duration: 2 years
- Place: Trento - Villazzano (Italy)
