JUNIOR SCIENTIST FOR OUR GUM BASE TEAM

What is the Gum Base team

  • it is a specialized function within Fertin R&D
  • it is responsible for support to our gum base production facility
  • it is responsible for testing and substituting raw materials as well as innovating and optimizing gum base composition
  • it is a small group of people, but it plays a significant part in all chewing gum development projects requiring new gum bases
  • it collaborates with specialists from other departments on dual sourcing, development and regulatory aspects
  • it ensures the right level of data and documentation for new products and optimized processes.

The Gum Base scientist will:

  • play an integral part in optimizing and developing the gum bases used in all our chewing gum products. This includes laboratory trials and upscaling to full scale trials.
  • be responsible for maintaining and documenting the gum base processes.
  • provide trouble shooting and support to our gum base production facility.
  • provide technical expertise to in-house departments and authorities.
  • work in close collaboration with gum base production and management in order to establish the most optimal and robust manufacturing process.
  • implement dual sourcing of various raw material within the gum base formulation by testing in laboratory and full scale.

What is your profile?

  • You hold a bachelor or masters level degree within chemistry, chemical engineering or similar.
  • Experience from the food or polymer/-rubber industry is an advantage, but we also welcome recently educated applicants.
  • Your personal characteristics include good communication skills as well as an excellent ability to coordinate, execute and document complicated processes. You are systematic and thorough, and you appreciate working in a GMP environment.
