Senior Application Engineer for OEM Hub

The Senior Application Engineer will provide technical expertise to the OEM, in collaboration with the local sales departments in the region, product management, technical support, product engineering and R&D. The areas of technical expertise and deep product knowledge include but are not limited to Low voltage drives, PLC/HMI. You will take technical ownership of developing customized solutions with the OEM Customer. This position will be based in our Skovlunde/Copenhagen, Denmark location.
This position reports to
Manager of OEM hub, North Europe region
Your responsibilities
- Developing OEM-specific solutions together with local sales (North Europe region)
- Developing solutions based on parameter structure, AP and IEC-programming
- Developing solution/concepts in collaboration with Customers
- Documentation of the solution
- On-site and aftersales support for assigned OEMs
- Supporting the sales team with customer presentations and demonstrations by serving as the product/system/application expert
- Sharing of solutions and application know-how within the global ABB OEM community
Your background
- Must-haves:
- 5-10 years of strong technical experience in variable frequency drives
- Good technical background for motors and PLC
- Knowledge of programming, specially IEC 61131
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
- Advantage if you have:
- A good understanding of electrical design of a machine
- Knowledge within functional safety
- DC/DC and DCT technology understanding
- Motion application knowhow
- Understanding of fieldbus technologies
