- you’re a qualified gardener through your education or relevant work experiences

- you’re able to work by yourself (when on your own at a job)

- you have a good understanding of the practical gardening work and don’t need training in this topic

- you’re able to work with motorized gardening tools, like a hedge trimmer, lawn mower, edge trimmer, chainsaw, brush cutter, garden tractor, etc.

- driving licence B (as a minimum) is mandatory (you’ll also be driving with a trailer attached, but without the driving licence BE required)

Work description

As for a qualified gardener, your work consists mainly about vegetative maintenance on outdoor areas and gardens. This could be mowing the grass, trimming hedges, removing weed in driveways, on patios or flower beds, trimming trees and bushes, cutting minor trees and similar ad hoc gardening work.

When being an educated landscape gardener, you’ll also be tasked with more technical orders, like construction of patios or driveways and other installations, garden builds, setting up fences, etc.

This goes for the growing season, in the period from March to October, and during wintertime other tasks could be laying out road salt on pavements for anti-slip control, or clearing them for snow, etc. and from time to time a minor carpenter job could be implied.

Salary and contract

Salary according to your competences and Danish law, your hourly rate will be clarified with the employer before signing contract. Contracts are based on 37-hours weekly, Monday to Friday, or less hours if desirable. If needed, the employer will help you with finding accommodation, by translating rental terms or referring to landlords. A minimum of English language understanding is required.

Additional info

Tetanus vaccination is advised and can be obtained at your medical center. You must be able to provide a certificate of good conduct from your base country and other documents, i.e. passport, drivers licence, etc. If needed, the employer will help you with acquiring a Danish bank account and social security number (CPR).
