Job Description

Would you like to build a career within a global front-runner that takes its responsibility seriously? Do you want to excel within a highly multicultural 2G&R team?

“In Total, we have a strong development culture with exciting training and coaching opportunities. The successful candidate will benefit from working closely with 2 senior geophysicists who will be available as mentors and sounding boards,” says Geoscience Advisor Alain Lejay.

Key responsibilities
As part of the Reservoir Management team, you contribute to geoscience and reservoir engineering (2G&R) synthesis work to understand existing and new fields. Together, your goal is to deliver maximum value through integrated field reviews and reservoir management plans including identification of well & reservoir interventions, infill, re-drill and development opportunities.

You will be responsible for providing geophysical input to the assessment of 5-10 North Sea carbonate chalk fields. Doing so, you will collaborate closely within the Reservoir Management team, with colleagues from Well Management and other Asset teams to ensure shared understanding of well potential, reservoir potential and opportunities for well/reservoir optimisation.

Your tasks will be to:

  • Support the acquisition, processing and interpretation of 3D and 4D seismic data, quantifying uncertainties on reservoir characterization and structural definition, using Petrel and our in-house software Sismage.
  • Perform 2G&R syntheses and 4D integrations in collaboration with the team
  • Provide geophysics input for integrated field reviews, reservoir management plans and for the identification of economic and safe reservoir and infill well opportunities
  • Support data acquisition requirements to inform future subsurface decisions
  • Present technical evaluations both internally and to external stakeholders as required

You will typically be expected to travel to our offices in Copenhagen and France (Pau / Paris) to participate in technical reviews, knowledge sharing ventures or to attend training.

In the Danish North Sea, Total operates 18 fields from 50 offshore platforms, 393 wells and 5 processing hubs. You will join our Reservoir Management team at our office in Esbjerg, Denmark, as part of an integrated team of reservoir engineers, petrophysicists, geologists and geophysicists.
