We are looking for an ambitious Buying Manager with a strategic approach to procurement who can drive success by setting category strategy and securing product margin, inventory sourcing, and identifying new business opportunities each season. You will help us managing the development and production of products within the assigned categories from the Ilse Jacobsen Hornbæk design universe with other team members referring to Head of Category & Procurement. You will also cooperate with Sales and Design having a close dialogue and collaboration with our suppliers.

We are looking for an ambitious Buying Manager with a strategic approach to procurement who can drive success by setting category strategy and securing product margin, inventory sourcing, and identifying new business opportunities each season. You will help us managing the development and production of products within the assigned categories from the Ilse Jacobsen Hornbæk design universe with other team members referring to Head of Category & Procurement. You will also cooperate with Sales and Design having a close dialogue and collaboration with our suppliers.
PRIMARY TASKS
- Secure the global supply base, ensuring product, price and lead-time requirements are met according to agreed objectives while minimizing company risk. Development of collections, follow-up on results, forecasts, and pipeline pricing.
- Support in preparing the seasonal forecast based on financial goals products performances
- Ensure that products are designed and sourced into set price points while meeting margin requirements and assure the highest quality of the products in the designated categories.
- Produce and oversee instructions and comments on prototypes, (pre-) production samples.
- Ensure that vendor adhere to the agreed deliverables and comply with best practice.
- Drive sustainable growth by making competitive analysis of market data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends regarding the product and category.
- Sourcing of fabric products as well as price and quality negotiations with suppliers.
- Manage supplier relations and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Target and streamline processes to match changing needs developing pipeline management.
PROFILE: YOU HAVE/ARE:
- Several years’ work experience in development/ sourcing/production across product categories.
- Strong commercial, business, financial insights to ensure management, growth and productivity.
- Outgoing, cooperative, strong negotiation skills, result minded and a merchant with a capital M.
- Team player experience in cross-functional teamwork with ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Structured, analytical, excellent at handling data, numbers, Excel and IT / ERP-systems.
- Great communication and language skills e.g., written and spoken Danish and English.
