Head of IT PMO
Are you experienced in managing an IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) and do you see an opportunity in setting up your team? European Energy is looking for its new Head of IT PMO to help us drive our future strategic IT projects!
Your new role
As our new colleague, you will get the opportunity to create and lead our IT PMO and its framework, e.g. supporting policies, processes, and tools. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing the IT project portfolio overview in European Energy and head the department of the IT Project Managers.
You will have the responsibility to overall manage, report and ensure the completion of all projects in IT, involving IT projects managers and/or other relevant IT resources. You will liaise with the Group PMO to ensure strategic alignment with the overall Business- and IT strategies of the organization.
As head of IT PMO you should prioritize projects that contribute to the company’s goal, mission, and vision, ensuring that resources are used wisely and that projects have a significant impact on the organization's success.
One of our first action points in the role will be to establish an IT Project committee and facilitate the prioritization of IT projects as well as defining-, scope, financial impact, and needs/allocation.

Your responsibilities
- Planning program and project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
- Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize and develop programs and projects.
- Establish governance & standards together with Group PMO including templates and guidelines to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
- Analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
- Providing financial reports and budget outlines to management.
- Overseeing the development of the projects and ensuring that the team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company’s standards.
- Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
- Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification.
What we are looking for
- You hold a Bachelor’ or Master’ degree in Computer Science, Management of Technology, or something similar.
- You have a PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner certification or are equivalently qualified in similar project management methodologies.
- 3-5+ years of experience managing an IT PMO office/department and years of project management experience before this.
- Experience in benefits and dependency mapping, risk management, and resource planning.
- Experience in program and project-level financial management.
- Business acumen. Your understanding of the business context in which IT projects operate is crucial.
- You excel in flexibility and adaptability as our business and IT landscape is constantly evolving, and projects may face unexpected challenges.
- Strong and demonstrated ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
