Project Engineer for piping projects in an international company
Would you like to contribute to the development of solutions for some of the world's greenest fuels? Are you an experienced engineer that know your way around piping systems? And do you want to continue developing your career in an international environment? At MAKEEN Energy, we are currently looking for a Design Engineer to contribute to the development of primarily piping projects for our energy solutions. Our new colleague will join the engineering team at our headquarters in Randers, Denmark – and if you nodded along to the questions above, perhaps the seat can be yours!
As our new Design Engineer, you will be part of the global engineering department and have colleagues all around the world. You will work together with experienced, professional, and passionate colleagues that are dedicated to creating responsible energy solutions for people and planet. And you will contribute to the team by developing and optimizing our solutions and processes, mainly within piping.
Initially, you will work together with the team that develops solutions for liquefied natural gas/biogas (LNG/LBG). This is a relatively new business area, and the small team works passionately to develop the untapped potential with new and innovative solutions.
Your primary responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design and implementation of pipe contracts for our national and international projects and will play an important role in both the sales and project phases. During the sales phase, you will provide technical support to the seller and customer, develop concept drawings, make price calculations, and prepare offers.
During the project phase, you will be responsible for the quality and development of the final design and construction of the pipe systems, make the necessary calculations and prepare and maintain the design manual and plant documentation. In collaboration with our purchasing and production department, you will prepare production bases and BOMs, as well as selecting components and suppliers. You will enter new ways of collaborating by outsourcing entire or partial tasks to subcontractors, just as you must manage and develop collaborative networks for our drawing work.
As you will initially support our LNG/LBG team – one of our newer business areas – your job will involve several development tasks, and you will have the opportunity to greatly influence the chosen solutions.
Background and qualifications
You can maintain the full overview during the planning of design activities, with a great focus on quality, finance, and time management of the contracts in question. You are a strong organizer who are passionate about what you are dealing with and are good at communicating both in writing and speaking.
Since most of your time will be spent on tasks in the project phase, we are looking for a colleague with a sense of structure, details, and quality. You must be able to work with several projects simultaneously and appear welcoming and positive towards colleagues and suppliers, who approach us daily with questions and need for support.
As our LNG/LBG business is still in the development phase, we are looking for a person who can think outside the box and offer ideas for the development of new concept solutions in the sales phase, as well as find technical solutions to problems in the project phase.
Our work environment and management style are characterized by freedom with responsibility, and it is therefore important that you take ownership of your own tasks and can work independently. As we are a global company, intercultural business communication awareness is important when dealing with both colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
We imagine that you are:
- A trained engineer or similar, preferably with an additional trade school education.
- Experienced in international piping design projects and ideally with knowledge of the gas/oil industry.
- Experienced in drawing pipe systems in PLANT or similar and are a proficient MS Office user.
- Knowledgeable in pipe standards and norms as well as participating in HAZOPs.
- Fluent in English in writing and speaking.
- Proactive and engaging.
- Inquisitive with a high work ethic.
As we work within the project world, there will be days or short periods where we will have to work overtime to execute projects on time. However, we offer great work flexibility in return.
