Handson and operationally minded IT Manager to ILLUM
Are you passionate about driving operational efficiency and improving business processes? Do you want to take the lead in ensuring operational excellence, effective processes, and continuous development of an up-to-date infrastructure? Are you eager to deliver business-centric support and solutions, working with a complex IT landscape with systems such as POS, CRM, ERP, and more?
ILLUM has successfully completed a comprehensive three-year IT modernisation journey, where they have significantly enhanced their cybersecurity measures, established a resilient and scalable infrastructure, and adopted a cloud-first SaaS strategy. The transformation includes replacing 80% of the legacy systems, building an adaptable workplace, and fostering a proactive IT function that is deeply integrated with the business.
As next step in their journey and with focus on harvesting the benefits from their modern IT-landscape, ILLUM is looking for a hands-on IT Manager to spearhead IT operations, manage partners, and manage a small team of skilled IT specialists. The role will report directly to ILLUM’s CFO and will become part of Finance’s management team. Workplace will be in the beautiful city centre of Copenhagen.
Delivering effective and customer-centric IT operations and service excellence
As ILLUM’s new IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily IT operations at ILLUM, ensuring the stability and performance of IT services. Your primary focus will be to deliver operative solutions that support operational efficiencies and business needs. The role will encompass a team of two skilled IT supporters and four IT student assistants, and furthermore coordination with external outsourcing partners and vendors. While spearheading IT, you will also be engaged in technical questions and prioritisations together with your team and oversee IT infrastructure management, employee software, and systems like ERP and POS, digitalisation of workflows, and introduce new solutions to enhance operational performance.
As IT Manager, you will balance between being hands-on, strategically oriented, and overseeing execution and deployment. In your daily work, some of your key responsibilities will include following:

We trust you to be a proactive and self-motivating IT Manager, who, with confidence and a distinct team orientation, can take ownership for securing an effective user-centric IT operation. You are not afraid to pull up your sleeves and take active part in securing IT operation, and in other situations, you can coach, mentor and support your team to act and make decisions independently. Your skills include an ability to set a direction / define the roadmap, drive results, lead change, and balance efficient operations and stability with IT development initiatives.
Professionally, you see yourself as a plug-and-play candidate, who can step directly in and deliver value to ILLUM’s IT and business. You will get a supportive and informative handover from the current IT Manager, who is about to leave for new endeavours. Your experience is expected to include following:

As IT Manager, you will balance between being hands-on, strategically oriented, and overseeing execution and deployment. In your daily work, some of your key responsibilities will include following:
- Take an active, hands-on role in overseeing the smooth daily operations of IT. Ensure availability, reliability, and performance of IT.
- Resolve escalated IT issues by taking direct action to maintain seamless system performance and step in directly to troubleshoot and resolve issues when needed.
- Manage relationships and collaborate with key technology vendors and partners and negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Secure cost control and approving invoice and deliver budget and deviation reporting on cost and capex
- Lead and develop a high-performing IT team by fostering a user-centric, business-aligned approach, and encourage for skill diversification and professional growth.
- Strengthen cybersecurity practices by taking a hands-on approach to monitor and address risks.
- Lead and actively participate in the adoption of new tools, platforms, and processes. Ensure smooth transitions from legacy systems to modern solutions.
- Apply ITIL principles to enhance service management by working directly with teams to implement incident, problem, and change.

- Background from managing and being directly involved in IT operations, with strong insight in infrastructure, operations and service delivery.
- Experience from managing retail systems, and understanding of the importance in having system stability, security, and continuous optimisation of ERP, POS, and CRM systems is strongly preferred.
- Proven expertise with ITIL frameworks and managing Cloud, SaaS, and modern infrastructure environments, with experience from atomisation, troubleshooting, and project execution.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and managing small, diverse IT teams.
- Experience from managing vendor relationships and following up on performance.
- Deep interest in new technology, continuously staying updated on trends and innovations to enhance IT solutions and operational performance.
