Do you want to be part of a high performing team in one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies? Then you might be the right person for Novo Nordisk, as we are currently searching for an experienced Corporate Counsel to be part of the Legal Governance & Compliance team.
About the department
The Legal Governance & Compliance team is part of Global Legal, located in Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark. We are responsible for a broad range of areas including legal compliance, corporate governance and legal assistance to staff areas. You will be part of an ambitious, dynamic and international team consisting of 10 employees who strive to deliver high quality results in close collaboration with our global legal and business stakeholders, including our 250 Global Legal colleagues situated at +40 locations around the world.
The position
We offer an exciting and challenging position as Corporate Counsel, where you will be responsible for driving and implementing our global compliance programmes in relation to export controls & sanctions and antitrust/competition law.
The position furthermore offers you a unique opportunity to interact with and understand our global business and experience the great diversity across countries, regions and the Novo Nordisk organisation – for example when helping our business navigate in countries subject to comprehensive trade embargoes and sanction regimes, including among other Iran, Syria and Cuba, and when you are responding to competition law related enquiries from or investigations by authorities across the globe, whether it be in Asia, South America or Europe.
You will also get the chance to engage with both legal and business stakeholders from across the global organisation and deliver high impact outcome when you as part of your responsibilities are developing our global compliance strategies and actions plans, providing legal advice to senior stakeholders, developing tools and providing training across the organisation.
To succeed you will need to engage a diverse range of stakeholders both within Global Legal and across the organisation as well as external counsels and third-parties. You will have independent responsibility for key tasks but also work together with other lawyers in the team.
The work place will be in Bagsværd, Denmark. As part of the Global Legal organisation, you would also be involved with cross-functional Global Legal projects and, in addition, various opportunities, both in Denmark and abroad, offer potential for further personal and professional development.
Qualifications
You hold a law degree and have 3-5 years of experience, preferably from a major law firm or inhouse legal department. You have a strong interest in international business and the pharma industry. Additionally, you possess a personal drive and a “can-do” dialogue-oriented and service minded attitude, which enable you to establish strong professional relations both internally and externally. You have an international mind-set, a desire to work with global matters and an ability to interact with colleagues from other cultures. Experience with export controls/sanctions and antitrust/competition law is not required. You can multi-task and meet tight deadlines at the same time as you give solid attention to detail. Lastly strong written and verbal communications is a must, thus proficiency in English on a professional level is required. Danish language skills are not required.
