You will be a part of the core transaction team from the very beginning of the transaction, through the execution phase up until the finalization of the integration process.
You will be working closely with experienced, specialized and dynamic colleagues across the Maersk organization.
The M&A Legal team is a section of the Maersk legal department providing legal support to M&A and corporate projects in the Maersk group.
The position is located at the Maersk headquarters on Esplanaden in the heart of Copenhagen, reporting to the Head of M&A Legal.
Key responsibilities
In the position, you will act as a legal business partner. You will advise on legal matters in M&A transactions and strategic projects.
Some of the tasks in the job will be to:
• Ensure close coordination with internal and external stakeholders on projects
• Provide advice on transaction structuring
• Identify and explain legal issues and provide advice on how to solve these issues throughout the entire transaction process
• Draft, comment on, and negotiate transaction documents
• Manage legal due diligence processes
• Follow-up and provide support to integration and separation work
• Engage and manage external legal advisors
• Provide guidance and training on M&A legal topics to internal stakeholders globally.
We are looking for
You hold a master’s degree in Law and you have at least 5 years’ experience from a top tier law firm preferably combined with a secondment or direct experience from an international in-house legal function.
You have a proven track record of leading M&A processes and understand their commercial and financial context.
You have strong business acumen.
You work independently and stand by your decisions when challenged whilst keeping an open mind.
You are methodical and thorough and have an ability to keep a clear mind in a busy and dynamic environment.
You are a team player who can easily and proactively work with different stakeholders.
You have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Other language skills and professional experiences from various jurisdictions (whether civil law or common law) are an advantage but not a requirement.
