Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a highly professional and global environment where you can use your solid epidemiological skills in a real-world setting? And would you like to have a huge variety of tasks and great opportunities to learn and engage in a strong scientific community? Then you may be one of our new Epidemiologists to join our team.

About the department

Epidemiology is a department in Real World Data & Science based in Søborg, Denmark. The area is characterised by a high level of innovation driven from both internal and external developments and the organisations need for real world evidence. We are responsible for providing epidemiological evidence to all phases of development projects and launched products based on data and literature and we work closely together with the team of data scientists. You will be joining a team of 10 highly professional, engaged and motivated epidemiologists of various backgrounds and experience.

Epidemiology is a part of Global Development where we drive all clinical development of products based on proteins and peptides from early development phases to product introduction and life cycle management. We are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide, securing that the process lives up to global standards, regulations and business ethics. We work in global project teams with focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and ultimately benefit society.

The position

We are right now looking for Epidemiologists on both senior and specialist level to apply their solid epidemiological knowledge and skills to provide real-world evidence from real-world data, observational studies and literature. Our primary disease areas include diabetes, obesity, growth hormone deficiencies and haemophilia, with adjacent areas also in scope.

You will be responsible for providing epidemiological evidence to a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation and externally. Your tasks and responsibilities will be varied and diverse within pharmaco- and classical epidemiology, including guidance on and contribution to study designs and analytical methods, and to identify and determine efficient data collection approaches and data sources relevant for the questions being investigated. Also, you will be preparing literature research and conducting analyses based on real-world data from either Novo Nordisk observational studies or from external commercial data sources.

You will be performing or guiding on complex epidemiological activities and participate in working groups requiring pharmacoepidemiology expertise, and you can be involved in supervising of less experienced colleagues. Moreover, you are responsible for communicating your results and findings in a clear and convincing way both orally and in various types of publications.

You will be interacting with many stakeholders – either when communicating epidemiological considerations and results to internal stakeholders or through contact with research organisations, commercial partners and academic institutions involved in analysis of epidemiological data.

Qualifications

You hold a Master’s degree in public health, life sciences, biostatistics, engineering or equivalent and a PhD degree in a related field. You have solid hands-on experience in epidemiological research, from the pharmaceutical, medical or biological area working with analytical epidemiological projects and real-world data. Preferable, you have experience with pharmacoepidemiology. Knowledge of human biology in general is a must, as well as good communication skills.

We emphasise accountability and reaching goals through a collaborative effort, thus it is essential that you can use your good interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results together with others, both internally and when working with external project teams. You must thrive in a role where you have responsibility, are proactive and work independently.
