The position As our Global Patient Relations Lead, you will be responsible for engaging with patient advocacy groups to underpin Novo Nordisk’s public affairs strategy for diabetes. In this role, you will be responsible for informing and developing our advocacy strategy, designing and implementing activities to engage with patient advocacy groups at a global and national level. You will need to collaborate closely with Global Public Affairs colleagues responsible for policy and partnerships, and with colleagues across different functions and regions where relevant. Key responsibilities include:
  • Building long-term collaborative partnerships and meaningful engagement with relevant patient groups and advocates at a global and national level
  • Co-creating patient advocacy initiatives and platforms to raise the standards and quality of care for people with diabetes
  • Representing Novo Nordisk in relevant international fora where engagement with patient advocacy groups is critical
  • Organising and implementing patient advisory boards to ensure Novo Nordisk’s activities are in line with patient perspectives and expectations
  • Developing materials and resources to support key affiliates in engaging with local patient advocacy groups in these disease areas
  • Qualifications As an ideal candidate, you have:
  • A degree in political science, international business or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in public affairs and patient advocacy within the pharmaceutical industry, or in consultancy or patient organisations
  • A proven track record of engagement with patient advocacy groups, ideally within diabetes or chronic diseases
  • Experience in designing and forming partnerships with a range of stakeholders
  • An analytical mindset and strong project management skills
  • Strong command of written and spoken English
  • As an individual, you are energetic, proactive and a strong team player. You like to challenge the status quo as you pursue opportunities and create tangible solutions to complex problems. You have exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and experience of working in a matrix organisation. You possess excellent communication and presentation skills. About the department Global Public Affairs and Patient Relations (GPAPR) is part of the Global Public Affairs and Sustainability area in Novo Nordisk. We aspire to be a proactive and solutions-orientated partner to patients and policymakers in the joint ambition of raising the standards of care in our therapy areas, to help solve society’s fundamental challenges. The role is anchored in the Diabetes Policy Team, driving the development and execution of the public affairs strategy for Novo Nordisk in Type 1 and 2 diabetes.
