Rygaards is a Christian/Catholic school, founded in 1909 by the Assumption sisters. The school sees as its purpose, in co-operation with parents, to practice an education that builds up the self-confidence, sense of values, and all-round personal development of the individual student. The school has a Danish and an International English-speaking school each teaching its separate curriculum.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Would you like to work with communications in an international environment? Then this temporary position in the Rygaards School Administration might be right for you!

The Position

The Communications Officer will interact with a large number of people within the school including pupils, teaching and support staff, office staff and the leadership team.

Applicants should be fluent in English and Danish and native speakers of one of the languages. They should also have strong writing, editing and proofing skills in both languages. They should have a university degree or equivalent and a minimum of one year’s experience in a communications-related role.

The main role of the Communications Officer is to improve communication with all stake holders and the local community at large. It requires a wide range of skills and expertise and an energetic, creative, open-minded, and innovative approach. The role is busy, interesting, and varied, with a range of responsibilities and will suit someone with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

The purpose of the position is to support the leadership in developing and implementing a strong brand and communications strategy.

The Communications Officer is part of the Administration, where daily inquiries from teachers, parents and students are a normal part of the workday. Parallel with your daily communications assignments, you will also be required to handle personal, telephonic, and written inquiries at the reception, as well as be part of the service team for the school’s leadership, teachers, parents, and students. This ensures a lively workplace where no two days are the same.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Communications Officer will be required to undertake the tasks outlined below:

  • Copywriting

  • Website and Online Media

  • Photography

  • Design

  • Other Responsibilities


Hours of Work

This is a temporary maternity leave, full time appointment. A flexible attitude to working hours is necessary, as the post holder will be required to work in the evenings for events such as music, art and drama performances.

We shadow the Danish State wage agreements. We require a police check upon employment.
