Job description
Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) is seeking an experienced full-time Communications Manager to manage the PR and editorial activities for GFA – the leading non-profit organisation for sustainability in fashion. As Communications Manager, you will join an agile team of six in the communications team, reporting to the Head of Communications.

Job description
Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) is seeking an experienced full-time Communications Manager to manage the PR and editorial activities for GFA – the leading non-profit organisation for sustainability in fashion. As Communications Manager, you will join an agile team of six in the communications team, reporting to the Head of Communications.
Primary responsibilities:
- Editorial content creation: Write press releases, op-eds, editorial content and newsletters
- Press pitching: Pitch stories for placements in international, regional and local media via print, broadcast and online in fashion, trade and business press; Secure publicity of GFA’s impact programmes, thought-leadership and events
- Press/ influencer inquiries and interviews: Write speaking points for organisational leaders, handle press/interviews of leadership team and partners related to GFA initiatives and events
- Large-scale press events: Organise press conferences, launch events and Media Masterclasses; Secure publicity of Global Fashion Summit pre, during and post event, i.e. coordinate press accreditation, host press, arrange on-site interviews
- Support the handling of crisis communications, preparing statements as needed
- Media monitoring and reporting: Monitor media coverage and maintain reporting and contact databases
- Manage the Communications Intern
Profile and professional skills:
- Fluency in English, native is preferred, with exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience and bachelor or master’s degree within a relevant field
- A working knowledge of sustainability in the fashion industry, a strong sustainability vocabulary and an understanding of the sensitivities/nuances within sustainability communications
- Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
- Interest in working in a fast pace, dynamic, sometimes challenging, but team-oriented work environment
- Business acumen, action-orientated mindset and a drive for results
- Strong sense for newsworthy content
- Experience in crafting communications, shaping narratives and messaging to and create stories
- Ability to communicate complex data in a concise and engaging way
- Experience in managing large-scale press events
- Willingness to travel occasionally
