Nordic & Baltic Lead Buyer - Preferred Location, Denmark


About the Opportunity


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Buyer to join our Nordic & Baltic Procurement team from our Offices in Denmark. The Lead Buyer will be in charge of building, executing and implementing local and global purchasing strategies within the Nordic and Baltic countries for designated spend categories within the Professional services domain, developing active relationships with regional, cluster and local stakeholders, as well as contributing to change projects within the organization. Working in a highly progressive and fast paced environment this position will have an awareness of the entire Procurement operations and the commitment to deliver best-in-class services, and to partner with relevant MCO business representatives to ensure sustainable processes and a smooth interface to the stakeholders within Procurement, Legal and Finance.

This position provides a great opportunity for contribution to a dynamic Procurement team within a cross-functional environment in an autonomous role. You will have the opportunity to work with different stakeholders across our functions and business units in the Nordic and Baltic markets.

Key Responsibilities


Operational:

  • Ensures that all business needs are identified and challenged according to the Sanofi Procurement process;
  • Manages certain spend categories according to company strategy (coming from both Regional Domain Heads and Global category managers);
  • Collaborates and integrates where necessary on the North European cluster procurement level;
  • Carries out the sourcing process for the categories he/she manages;
  • Negotiates simple contracts, optimizes existing agreements;
  • Manages the operational Procurement process:
    • Challenges business requirements (buy better, buy less);
    • Guides the user throughout the Procurement;
    • Ensures Compliance and Internal Control standards are met;
    • Identifies potential suppliers;
    • Conducts bidding (RFI, RFP, RFQ), if applicable.


Business Partnering:

  • Depending on the nature of spend, builds a strong relationship with his/her internal customers and suppliers in collaborations with other local buyers within NOBA and the North Cluster;
  • Develops strong relationships with his/her executive customers at regional level, with the support of the Regional category heads and other lead buyers.

Strategic Aspects:

  • Develops the category market and supplier expertise and shares this with internal customers;
  • Anticipates and consolidates all business needs in order to carry out negotiations within the regions and/or clusters and/or on country level;
  • Adapts, develops and implements sourcing strategies according to Category management objectives (coming from both Global Category managers and Domain heads).

About You


  • Capability to understand the business environment and to act cross business and cross functionally;
  • Adaptability to changes in environment, jobs, technologies and processes;
  • Knowledge of sourcing techniques and processes;
  • Excellent negotiations skills;
  • High level of autonomous working;
  • A very good understanding of Project management, Communication and Ability to work in and to lead teams in projects through change management;
  • Strong understanding of financial and legal aspects;
  • International and multi-cultural mind set;
  • Fluency in English and preferably a Nordic language;
  • Procurement, Business or Finance education, Bachelor/Master level;
  • Broad commercial and technical skills (apprenticeship or studies);
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in similar position related to Finance or Procurement;
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
