Do you excel in communication and storytelling, and can you deliver solid back-end support for hybrid and online conferences? Then you might be the candidate we are looking for in this temporary exciting position in DRC, Denmark’s largest NGO, where you will have the opportunity to support a global innovation process with a wide variety of partners looking to improve humanitarian action.

Who are we?

The position is based in the Programme Innovation & Business Engagement (PIBE) team. The PIBE team works to promote innovation throughout the organization and develop strategic partnerships for the achievement of DRC’s strategic objectives. We are a small and dynamic team, and we work with a wide range of colleagues, in HQ and across our regional offices and country programmes, and with external partners, in civil society, academia, the private sector and others. Our team consist of 5 advisors, 1 student assistant, 1 intern and one head of unit.

About the job

In this position you will be responsible for supporting the communication and technical facilitation of the DRC Global Innovation Summit 2022 on local innovation in humanitarian contexts. This event is DRC’s annual global ideation journey, where we set out to explore problems and their solutions around a pressing topic of transnational dimensions, which affects displaced populations, challenges the humanitarian sector, and where a structured innovation process can help identify new ways of solving problems and enable new partnerships.

You will support the preparation of the event and importantly the execution of this online/hybrid global event. You will also provide general communication and design support to project and to the PIBE team in general. The following deliverables is what we need from you:

  1. Technical lead (setting up virtual events, tech-support to internals, speakers and collaborators), contributing to back-end production of the DRC Global Innovation Summit on ZOOM/HOPIN platform.
  2. Plan and execute communication across internal and external platforms in connection with the DRC Global Summit 2022 in collaboration with DRC communication department incl. production of content incl. SoMe posts, event summaries, videos and other documentation.
  3. Website development (DRC.ngo campaign page, virtual event page and INSITE (sharepoint)
  4. Documentation – supporting the general documentation (incl. graphic designs) of programme innovation work in DRC

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to (i) have interest in humanitarian assistance and development sector, (ii) know your way around digital platforms (meetings and SoMe), (iii) communicate well in English, incl. Writing, and be able to work with colleagues and external partners from a various backgrounds, (iii) effectively manage the deliverables and otherwise be a self-starter and do your part to making the DRC Global Innovation Summit 2022 a great success. All employees should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Relevant academic education fx within communication, IT, or similar relevant disciplines – we welcome newly graduates
  • Strong IT skills and competent navigation on digital platforms, incl. technical webinar hosting tech /back-end support expertise
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Zoom and preferably HOPIN (Online event platforms)
  • Very strong writing, communication and visualization skills (incl. copywriting, content planning etc.)
  • Full professional proficiency in English

Desirable

  • Basic video production skills
  • Experience working with and designing online templates and whiteboard facilities (MIRO, Microsoft Whiteboard, powerpoint templates)
  • Experience setting up Sharepoint sites – internal as well as external

We offer

Contract length: 3 months

Workplace: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Start date: Preferably 1st Oct, or as soon as possible.

End date: 31 December 2022

The position is temporary as the job concerns tasks that relates directly to the Global Ideation Summit journey 2022, which is happening in Q4 of 2022.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC. The position is at “fuldmægtig” level. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.

Please note that you need to have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) in order to be considered for this role.
