A position as Director, Global Search & Evaluation in Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease Business Development team is open for immediate placement. We work with start-ups, established companies, venture capitalists, teaching hospitals, and academic institutions to support the development of innovation for mutual benefit, and to help patients in all of our current therapy areas. Through a variety of partnership models, we accelerate ideas from the lab and clinic to advance and expand our product portfolio and to improve outcomes for the patients we serve. The position Your overall objective is to secure access to novel pipeline assets and enabling technologies to further strengthen our Rare Disease R&D pipeline, as well as building and maintaining strong networks among our prospective therapy and technology partners. You will leverage your network, and actively engage with external stakeholders particularly venture capital, biotech companies and other large-cap pharma, to ensure Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease becomes the preferred partner in rare blood and endocrine disorders. In this role, you will report to the Sr Director, Business Development – Rare Disease & Cell Therapy. Working cross-organisationally with stakeholders from R&D to Commercial, you will champion external innovation and will support the full Business Development process from shaping the BD Strategy, target screening and evaluation, building the value story for our opportunities, as well as project management of due diligence, in order to enable senior management decision-making. Qualifications Master’s degree in business or life sciences, or a medical degree Minimum 10 years’ experience in a consultancy, M&A house, in-house corporate development role, or equivalent R&D role, preferably within the rare disease space Proven project management skills and experience Ability to analyse and digest complex ideas and data to make clear and qualified recommendations to senior stakeholders Strong communication skills, both in written and presentation form Outgoing with superb networking, collaboration and stakeholder management skills Self-driven, solution-focused and goal-oriented who functions well in a dynamic environment Strong strategic business acumen coupled with deep interest and curiosity about life sciences and medicine Working at Novo Nordisk Novo Nordisk is a global company offering worldwide opportunities for employees across a comprehensive value chain.
