We are looking for a motivated and independent Senior Scientist with extensive experience in developing and applying single-cell techniques to support the work of the Single-Cell Omics Platform at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The position is to commence on 23 September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Our research
The Center was established in 2010 through a generous, unrestricted grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF). The vision of the Center is to strengthen interdisciplinary research that transforms our basic understanding of the mechanisms of metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies. In 2018, the Center obtained new strategic funding from NNF including substantial funding to establish and/or develop five enabling biology and technology platforms in support of the new research strategy. The Single-Cell Omics Platform is a new research platform headed by Associate Professor Tune H. Pers. You may read more about the platform at https://cbmr.ku.dk/facilities/single-cell-omics/.
Your job
Your tasks will include developing, setting up, optimizing and applying single-cell transcriptomics- and epigenetics protocols. In addition, you will be involved in the development of single nuclei protocols, techniques for multiplexing of samples and techniques for spatial transcriptomics. The position includes close contact and collaboration with other researchers within the platform and at CBMR.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment as “Senior Scientist” (Research Consultant) is a full time and permanent position. Starting date is 23 September 2019, or after agreement. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications.

Your profile
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field
- Extensive practical experience with techniques for transcriptional and epigenetic single-cell analysis
- Extensive practical experience with fluorescence activated cell sorting
- Experience with validation and implementations of novel methods for research
- A solid background within general molecular biological techniques as well as in vivo research
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
