The theatre and the opera
The Royal Danish Opera is a division of The Royal Danish Theatre, and is tasked with performing opera and symphonic music on the highest international level and delivering these performances to as many people as possible – experiences ranging from tradition-conscious to innovative, and from niche-oriented to broad appeal, and including international co-productions and commissions of new work. The Copenhagen Opera House is a remarkable building, providing the framework for artistic performances of the highest calibre.

These ambitions are outlined in the political four-year agreement for the Royal Danish Theatre, setting out the main goals for the period 2021-2024 (RDT rammeaftale_da).
