København N

Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research

University of Copenhagen

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced laboratory technician to join the Computational Chemistry Unit. The start date is December 1, 2023, or after agreement.

About us

Our researchers share a common purpose as they seek to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in cardiometabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge towards new prevention and treatment strategies.

The Center has around 260 employees, spread across 21 research groups and 5 technology platforms, who work in a vibrant international research environment with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Center’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how genes, hormones, and environmental factors influence metabolic health and disease throughout life. You can read more about CBMR at www.cbmr.ku.dk.

The position available is in the Computational Chemistry Unit, headed by Associate Professor Thomas Frimurer, which provides state-of-the-art computational chemistry tools to the CBMR community. You can read more about the Unit here.

The focus of the group is directly related to translational research and design of next generation drugs. We use structure-based design technologies to develop pharmacological tool compounds and novel drug leads, which are used to characterize the physiological role of new target proteins.

You will be a member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team dedicated to advance translational research and basic research. Your responsibilities will include both ex-vivo and in-vivo lab work to support studying the effects of e.g. in-house developed tool compounds in different types of ex-vivo and in vivo proof of concept studies.

We are seeking a skilled lab technician to help us speed up our scientific discoveries and ensure our research is robust and reproducible. You will be responsible for keeping data and samples well-organized and making sure everything meets quality standards.
