About us

BluSense Diagnostics is an innovative start up in the MedTech business. We work hard to become global leader within the infectious point-of-care diagnostics. We combine complex scientific areas such as nanotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, optics, and hardware and software engineering in developing the next generation of point-of-care testing for infectious diseases.

The job

We are looking for a Biochemist who will partly take responsibilities in the daily preparation of reagents and upstream intermediates to make sure that we meet our manufacturing deliverables. Additionally, you will take responsibilities as process specialist in troubleshooting and process optimization, as well as act as a support in biochemical process validation. This position will require periods of laboratory hands-on work.

You will become part of our young and novel Reagent Development Team consisting of two highly skilled biochemists and one laboratory technician with several cross-functional tasks within process development and optimization, design transfer and manufacturing. Our team is responsible for the upstream biochemical manufacturing, as well as maintenance and optimization of upstream biochemical processes and handling key elements of our diagnostic devices. In addition, the team also support product development.

You will work closely with our competent biochemists and process operators in our downstream cartridge manufacturing team to make sure that we always deliver products of high quality.

Your responsibilities

  • Work according to BluSense ISO13485 quality system

  • Contribute to biochemical process development and process/design transfer of new IVD products including establishment of Device Master Record (DMR) deliverables

  • Support planning and carry out investigations/troubleshooting (testing IVD’s and intermediates) for root cause analysis during production and in product maintenance

  • Take part in process optimization

  • Plan, setup, execute and document biochemical process validations for new and existing IVD products

  • Preparation of our upstream biochemical manufacturing and QC processes, including preparation of crucial upstream intermediate products such as buffers, magnetic particle solutions, controls and calibrators

  • Support our downstream QC processes, including batch calibration and QC of our diagnostic test cartridge


Qualifications

You are a highly skilled and dedicated biochemist with high quality standards who likes challenges and thrives in a busy and dynamic work environment. You are able to handle multiple tasks at the same time while consistently delivering high-quality results. You have a strong passion for teamwork but enjoy working independently with a proactive and positive mindset. Furthermore, you are capable of performing your tasks within a specific set of directions and instructions provided by/or made in collaboration with our senior employees.

Specific qualifications and skills:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical engineering or similar. However, experienced laboratory technicians with the right experience and qualifications will also be considered

  • Experience with biochemical manufacturing and process development is an advantage, but not a requirement

  • Experience with design transfer and/or process validation is an advantage but not a requirement

  • Solid experience with standard biotech/biochemical laboratory techniques

  • Fluent in English both verbal and written

  • Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Aptitude and passion to run repetitive protocols while constantly monitoring important details and assuring high quality

  • Ability to monitor and trouble-shoot technical issues with a high degree of attention to details

  • Able to maintain focus in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues

  • Positive attitude with the capacity to be a good team player

  • Commitment to the team’s goal of providing outstanding high-quality products
