A massive shift is underway across all industries and value chains, due to new exponential technologies, digitalization, and new more integrated eco-systems including new business models changing the current Supply Chains and customer behavior.
This means exciting opportunities for DFDS A/S, why we are seeking an experienced international sale and business development executive with proven track record and ability to influence the Global Industrial customer change agenda by bringing the voice of the customer higher, deeper, and wider into the DFDS organization.
You will facilitate value creation by building a solid bridge between the customers, the business units and the corporate functions that support the logistics growth agenda.
You will be creating increased value from the portfolio of services that DFDS offers its global customers today and in the future.
You will leverage the traditional current revenue streams with new potential sources of revenue through for example new solutions or digital business models, included potential deeper downstream value chain integration such as system integrations etc.
The opportunity also entails re-shaping and the development of new individual and organizational skills and capabilities to meet the changing needs of DFDS customers.
The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Copenhagen, Denmark and travel may be required from time to time.
Area of responsibility
The purpose of this role is twofold, in the near-term it is to establish a Contract Logistics footprint with new and existing customers within our company with Sweden as a focus area.
In the long-term it is to fulfill the following strategic goals of DFDS and expand geographically within DFDS’ footprint (e.g. Other Nordic countries, Benelux and UK Irland)

DFDS are looking for an experienced leader, with relevant Logistics experience, who can bring the “voice of the customer” in terms of Contract Logistics to DFDS and convert this voice to tangible opportunities and close them successfully.
The candidate must be the greatest customer advocate and drive the customer’s needs, without losing sight of DFDS needs, together with the business units and corporate functions. Further, the candidate will drive profitable revenue from current and future customers and markets.
Stepping beyond the traditional sea freight and land-based revenue streams, seeking new potential sources of revenue via integrated sales, digital businesses and wider value chain opportunities will also be crucial.

Responsibilities & Accountability
The role will be responsible for the following success factors:
- Contract Logistics will focus on our current stronghold in Southern Sweden aiming to build a ~1bn SEK (revenue) business with ~75 mSEK EBIT by 2025 and the role is responsible for building a strong pipeline to support that growth
- Contract Logistics will focus on developing further aim to build 400 000sqm of warehousing within the company by 2025.
- Contract Logistics will offer services within warehousing, road transport, crewing/ manning services, and other value-adding services and it is the responsibility of this position to structure current product offering and create new products out of customers’ needs
Accountabilities will entail:
- Coordination of regional sales efforts focusing on Contract Logistics with performance, and strategy in line with divisional targets
- Execution and hands-on mentality
- Close engagement with all internal stakeholders
- Senior Industrial Representative in customer engagement
- Align/coordinate Customer and Cargo priorities against contract delivery.
- Ensure overall organizational capabilities, resource, and succession planning

- Proven track record of working horizontally in transforming sales performance and organizations across multiple geographies, business units, and nationalities
- Hands-on experience and track record in Contract Logistics sales
- Successfully demonstrated sales growth of existing product portfolio’s, whilst at the same time establishing new revenue streams for the future in a highly collaborative and team-oriented manner
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with change and transformation programs in complex international organizations, possibly with companies which have experienced challenges due to changes in value chain from changed customer behavior, including potential new innovative products & services
- Highly skilled in consultative selling with an ability to interact with decisionmakers on C-level
- Working effectively with differences in national cultures, personality styles, different professions
- Show a genuine passion for diversity, and preferably having a broad and diverse personal and professional background
- Having excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
- Team player, who listens well and is also able to work independently
- Analytical, well organized, and good attention to detail
- Expresses the highest levels of integrity and value-based leadership
- Drive for continuously improve own performance and DFDS performance and a “can do” attitude
- Good communication skills in Nordic languages (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) and English.
