Our client is a Danish textile brand with an international client base. The company produces clothing and accessories using excellent materials and following the newest trends and productions methods.
With a special focus on fit, sustainability, and quality, the purchasing department plays a vital role in the success of the company. As the new Buying Director, you will be responsible for the overall buying department. You will oversee all buying activities and focus on taking in some of the buying-related tasks which previously have been located with the product development team.
You will be reporting directly to the CEO. You can look forward to visiting suppliers in different corners of the world for approximately 40 days a year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing, and motivating leader who works determined to succeed while acknowledging the company goals, values, and quality standards. Your resumé lists both leadership of internal resources and external partners and you are skilled at negotiation. You thrive in a team-oriented environment where you get to be hands-on and guide the way and you lead with an honest, open, and trusting approach.
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a buying management position in the textile industry. Here you have gained product and quality knowhow especially regarding responsible production including insights to chemicals and sustainability.
You have a thorough understanding of buying and supply chain processes that you can utilize to create an effective purchasing flow. Moreover, your great experience enables you to provide valuable input and feedback to design and product development colleagues to continuously develop partnerships and collections in the right direction. It is a must that you are skilled in both Danish and English.

Your tasks and areas of responsibility
- Developing and implementing the overarching buying strategy with respect to sustainability
- Ensure implementation of new working methods
- Hands-on leadership of the Danish and international team
- Maintaining and growing the relationship to existing partners
- Sourcing European suppliers and participating in contract negotiations
- Ensuring an ideal and effective buying flow
- Strengthening the supply chain and expanding the product range
