Business Development Analysis for fast-growing nanotech material company

Exciting opportunity for a proactive Business Development Analyst with an interested in new material solutions for electronics/semiconductors and energy storage.

For our head office in Aarhus, Denmark, we are looking for a business development analyst, who can work across different business lines: Sales, Marketing and R&D. The candidate will help shape our biz dev strategy, perform the analysis underpinning it, identify new commercial opportunities and help implement our plan to realize them.

You report directly to the Head of Business Development and will work closely with the Management Team. In addition, much of the work will be alongside our technical specialists to communicate new findings, test results, and the various applications of the technology to new customers. The right candidate will need to possess a university degree, ideally in a business-related subject (and/or science, but with an interest in, and ability to, apply business skills).

To be the perfect fit for this role, you ideally have a track record in business development and/or similar/supportive functions. Our immediate and primary focus is on Energy Storage and Electronics. 1-3 years of business development, or related functions, and/or knowledge and experience within these industries will be advantageous. Work focus may change as we develop our technology, strategy and grows.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support the go-to-market strategy with collection and evaluation of critical market

data, including industry-specific process and product requirements for market entry.

  • Evaluate and prepare business cases, including market valuation, for new market opportunities.
  • Cost of ownership calculations internally and for prospective clients.
  • Liaise with the other teams across the organization (including our international partners).
  • Formulate and present supportive materials for decision-making across the company.
  • Development of our marketing and official communication material.
  • Implement efficient customer communication and feedback channels.
  • Help build and maintain the customer base, update client information.

Skills and requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in either a business-related field or a relevant technical field (chemistry, physics, electronics, energy, engineering).
  • Good understanding of the principles for business development in a manufacturing organization is a prerequisite. The ideal candidate has experience from a similar role in a related industry.
  • Interest and at least a basic understanding in materials technology and/or electronics/energy storage.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to efficiently collect data, filter information, and present the key message.
  • Aptitude for quick learning, and a readiness to do so in the context of our industry and technology, however, is more important than years of direct experience.
  • Proficiency in relevant software systems (Excel, PP, Word, etc.), especially relating to business management and CRM (e.g., Pipedrive, Salesforce).
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong collegiate/customer relations is an advantage.
  • Competency in researching sales leads, presenting proposals, and communicating them (internally and externally).
  • Strong communicator orally, written and visually (e.g., power point).
