Global Director to drive world class launches

About the department
The Director of the Global Launch Office will report to the (CVP) of the Portfolio Strategy Unit (PSU) and be part of the Leadership Team. PSU is a relatively new CVP area that is anchored in the Commercial Strategy and Corporate Affairs EVP area. We consist of five teams engaged with key strategic responsibilities: Portfolio Strategy, Portfolio optimisation, Launch Office, Device Strategy & Marketing and Portfolio Insights & Forecasting. Our aim is to maximise the commercial competitiveness of the Novo Nordisk product portfolio across Therapy Areas by crafting clear strategies, solving for complex portfolio dilemmas, steering launch excellence, setting direction for R&D and developing long-term forecasts.
The position
As our new Director for Global Launch Office you will lead a team of 2 people and have functional leadership of additionally 5 people located in Denmark and India. You will own the Global Launch Framework and will drive planning and development of strong launch plans in close collaboration with relevant therapy areas in Global and Operations. Your team will be a launch centre of excellence leading Novo Nordisk successfully through a new era of launches by ensuring better practice and consistency in launch approach across therapy areas. A significant part of the role is also financial management of launch pool funding across therapy areas and operations. You and your team will work in a strong and focused matrix structure around our launches and collaborate closely with the therapy area commercial units as well as stakeholders across the global organisation and international boundaries. The impact you have on the launch success is significant and at times the pace will be high.
Qualification
You have people leadership experience – direct and/or in-direct – and you are passionate about leadership and creating an atmosphere where your team thrives and creates exceptional results. You have strong strategic and analytical skills and apply a fact-based approach when analysing business challenges and opportunities. You have operational launch experience, preferably from affiliate, regional and global level. You are known for your ability to drive impact, and you are driven by making a difference now and in the future. In this role you will collaborate with and navigate between a large number of stakeholders. At times, you will lead the organisation trough diverging opinions and thus excellent stakeholder management skills combined with a level of assertiveness and resilience is critical in this position. You are an excellent presenter and communicator across all levels in the organisation and you are fluent in written and spoken English. Furthermore, you have a relevant university degree in e.g., marketing, business administration, economics, public health, or a business master and have solid experience from commercial and launch roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
