Niko is looking for an experienced Product Manager for our innovative PM Team working with Lighting Control, Sensors and Detectors

We are currently looking for an experienced, ambitious and technically strong individual to join our PM Team at Competence Center Detection in Sønderborg, to further strengthen our portfolio of detectors for lighting control on the European markets. You will contribute to translating customer needs and market requirements into a language that can be understood by the rest of the organization.
Job description
You will join our PM Team with two highly skilled and dedicated Product Managers. In close cooperation with you colleagues, you will be responsible for maintaining the product life cycle of our detectors for lighting control. You will identify the needs of the targeted customer segments in close cooperation with Niko’s sales organizations in the three regions, Nordic, Central and West. Based on market input, you will be responsible for describing and specifying the technical requirements of products and services towards our R&D team for further development of our product portfolio. In addition, your key responsibilities will be to:
Your working base will be in Sønderborg where you will work closely together your colleagues in PM, Marketing Communication and R&D. Moreover, you will collaborate with colleagues internally in the Niko Group and various people externally. You will refer to Niko’s VP Marketing at the HQ in Belgium. You must be willing to do short business trips in Europe (5-7 days per month).
Background and skills
For this position, you ideally hold a combined technical and commercial education at a bachelor’s or master’s level. Alternatively, a technical education as electronics engineer or electronic technician combined with extensive commercial work experience. Furthermore, we expect you to have +5 years of experience working with product marketing in a similar position, preferably within the electronic business. In addition, you possess the following competencies:
On personal level, you have a strong personal drive that enforces you to fight for a successful product portfolio. Your passion for product management and data-driven decisions will ensure the right products to satisfy the needs of the targeted markets. You are an excellent problem-solver with great presentation and communication skills. You have a structured way of working, the ability to work independently, but at the same time strong collaboration skills.

- Develop customer centric use cases prioritizing the right products and services providing the most rewarding customer experience
- Develop launch strategies for products and services and closely cooperate with Sales and Marketing regarding the execution
- Manage the life cycle of the product portfolio
- Monitor competitors and market trends
- Closely cooperate with colleagues in R&D, Sales and Marketing

- In-depth commercial understanding
- Strong understanding of the marketing mix in the B2B and B2C markets
- Demonstrate and communicate clear product ownership in order to ensure proper execution
- Navigate in a large complex organization and establish relationships with stakeholders in R&D, Production, Marketing, Sales and Service and other relevant departments in order to effectively deliver products and services to the market
- Customer-oriented mindset with flair for the technical and functional design
- Technical experience – preferably from the detection and/or lighting markets, and knowledge about lighting control platforms such as DMX, DALI, KNX and wireless communication protocols as Zigbee, zWave, Bluetooth will be a real advantage
- Experience with specifying technical requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Danish. Skills in German is an advantage
