You will be part of the Power Train & Module Integration Testing and report directly to the Director, Power Conversion V&R.

Power Solutions Quality Improvements and Processes Power Train & Module Integration Testing

Test and Verification department within Vestas Wind Systems A/S plays an important role towards verification of new prototype components and systems. To optimize testing, we bring field conditions into our test center to stress turbine components to functional, performance and reliability testing. Our facilities are world class within testing of turbine components and includes 10 test rigs with the capability to test components or systems as part of the turbine up to 20MW. You will be joining a very homogenous department that consist of 30 engineers and turbine technicians with a high focus on quality and delivering test data.

Joining this team, you will also have the possibility to work among many different projects and assignments that will test to work hard on your daily work; each day is never the same. You will also over time establish a very broad network with many different internal departments but also external contractors.

You will be a point of contact for your area within the mechanical engineering. Our main focus is quality, which allows you to have an important role in design of prototype components, design of test rigs as part of requirement specifications, test procedures and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop test equipment within Power Conversion with particular focus on mechanical systems
  • Planning & preparing tests in co-operation with Project managers, designers, test engineers and test technicians
  • Design reviews of mechanical prototype components and sub contractors deliverables for test equipment to ensure we have correct quality
  • Work close with project management, design teams and internal specialists to ensure right balance between quality, cost and time
  • Trouble shooting on failures occurred during testing with the following reporting
  • Optimization of process and procedures


Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Broad experience with mechanical components (such as structual, couplings, bolted joints, weldings, hydraulics and lubrication)
  • Thorough understanding of kinematics and innovative systems
  • Experience with simulation (stress, dynamics)
  • Familiar with the Machinery Directive
  • Experience with structured root cause analysis (six sigma or similar)

  • Willingness to motivate new initiatives such as digitalization
  • Highly motivated, focused, open minded, effective communicator
  • Knowledge within Microsoft office & CAD programs
  • Experiences in creating reports, technical presentation and reviewing technical documents

Additional Information

Your primary work location will be Oliehavnsvej, Aarhus, Denmark.

This position requires approximately 10 days of travel per year, however this isn’t set and can vary.
