Regional Support NCE WTG Engineering & Support Mechanical Engineering
Regional Support NCE has sub department which regionally supports the Service & Construction departments and local Sales with mechanical technical knowledge and acting as the link between R&D and the local business unit Northern and Central Europe.
The Mechanical Engineering team consists of 6 employees located in Husum and Hamburg, Germany. The main areas of support are mechanical (Main shaft and gearbox, yaw, hydraulic, lubricants).
Responsibilities
The main tasks for the Mechanical Engineering teams include: Providing direct support to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair, evaluating damage on main components, providing answers to technical questions internal and external, and taking part in customer meetings and seminars.
You will be part of a high experience dedicated team and take leadership for implementing Vestas strategy, supporting the Service and Construction organisations and local business units with technical knowledge, secure customer focus and safety.
The key responsibilities include:
• Be the link between Regional support NCE and Technology R&D on mechanical tasks.
• Evaluate major component damages on mechanical components.
• Providing direct support to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair related jobs with focus on turbine performance
• Provide timely and high-quality responses and support to the Service and Construction organisations
• Handling requests in tickets and answering emails
• Prepare technical customer reports and presenting technical matters at customer meetings
• Ensure technical knowledge is shared within the team
Qualifications
A relevant technical education, such as:
• Mechanical Engineer
• Marine Engineer
• Or a shorter mechanical education + long term experience from the wind industry.
5 years’+ experience from the wind industry is highly preferred
Competencies
• Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• Must be structured, self-driven, takes initiative and ownership
• Team-player orientated, able to excel as part of a global team
• Ability and willingness to travel within NCE region
• Customer oriented and the ability to understand the business value seen from a service and customer perspective
• Building network and relationship, both internal and external
• Able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks
