Company Description

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern

Beam instrumentations and beam intercepting devices such as collimators are key components in the secondary beam lines complex. It consists of motorized mechanical equipment used to absorb and/or attenuate secondary particles needed for physics, R&D and material irradiation programs in North and East experimental areas complex.

You will take part in the preparation, maintenance and consolidation program within NA-CONS project of mechanical beam lines equipment, and also in the installation, maintenance and frequent modifications and adjustments of secondary beam lines and experimental areas facilities, and you will:

  • Carry-out the preventive and remedial maintenance works for the BE-EA mechanical equipment installed in secondary beam lines.
  • Assemble, test, and install beam lines equipment.
  • Coordinate material and spare parts procurement, production follow-up and quality control with external companies or CERN internal services.
