Our department consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds, with approximately one-third being female and half representing foreign nationalities and we encourage you to apply if you are a minority in this field.Who we’re looking forTopsoe is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Senior Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer or technician to join our team. This is not your typical mechanical engineering role - we need someone who thrives in the manufacturing environment, who can make things happen quickly, reliably, and with well-documented results. If you join our team you will contribute to the development of metal components for Solid Oxide Electrolysis (SOE) technologies. In this role, you will collaborate with scientists, technicians, our metal workshops and other teams to optimize manufacturing processes and tools for metal components, such as foils and meshes. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in metal engineering and contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.Some key responsibilities:
  • Execute practical, mechanical work safely, swiftly and efficiently, ensuring all tasks are completed on time without compromising on quality.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, ensuring transparency and traceability.
  • Prototype metal components, considering factors such as performance, durability, and manufacturability as well as fast, reliable, and well-documented prototype test results.
  • Conduct machine modifications to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with projects and teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source and evaluate materials, components, and tooling for metal fabrication.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce cost
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in metal engineering and manufacturing processes.

    What you’ll bringWhat you’ll bring
  • Proven (7+ years) experience in a similar role, familiarity with manufacturing processes, such as stamping, forming, welding, and machining, for metal fabrication.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or excellent metal processing or tooling skills obtained from practical experience.
  • Excellence in solving practical, hands-on tasks with a systematic and well-documented approach.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and prototyping metal components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
