We improve the quality of life for millions of people worldwide. That is what we do. It’s as simple as that.
What is not so simple, is the way we do it. And this is where we need you!
In the Design & Usability Group, we are looking for a senior mechanical engineer, that gets a kick out of working with product development using cutting-edge facilities within prototyping, design facilities, reliability testing, tool manufacturing and production technologies with the goal to develop hearing instruments with a focus on hardware.
Have we caught your attention? Great, then read on!
Putting your fingerprint on our projects through mechanical PCB design!
For this position, you are going to be a part of the PCB team, which main responsibility is to design the smallest possible flex PCB for the Hearing Instrument and rigid/flex PCB solutions for chargers and connectivity products. You will be an important contributor in the interface to our NPI production site just nearby in Ballerup.
You will be responsible for:
Overall, you need to have solid design experiences with good collaboration skills to be able to take a key role in developing the integration work. You shall have an interest of being specialized within me-chanical design of electronics and be inspired by designing the smallest PCBs possible in every little detail.
“Working with us, you get to put your fingerprints on both current and future projects. We’d love to hear your ideas, even the crazy ones. If you want to test one of your ideas, we have our own prototype center with RPT technology and facilities to make micro-mechanical prototypes, which means you will get a pretty feeling if your idea is doable” says your new manager, Ebbe Jannes Larsen
You can dig deep and spare with people, but also get the big picture. That could mean to guide mechanical developers and support the planning of the daily project activities or plan and implement design work, specifications, design reviews and documentation.
As a senior mechanical engineer, you will also contribute to the competence development of our department.
That could be:
You can expect 5-20 travel days a year, visiting suppliers and our production site in Poland.
Welcome to Team Mechanics & Tools
Here you will join 11 team members, where the focus is on connecting the dots between the electronics and mechanical interface of our products. Besides product development, the skill of robustness and reliability of our products is handled by this team, together with ownership of our CAD system. In other words, we have the responsibility for essential Mechanical Engineering Tools and the related skill sets.
“It’s really important for me, that we have fun at work” says Ebbe with a smile and continues “It’s equally important for me, that we keep a healthy work/life balance, and value that we all do have a life outside work with family, friends and hobbies.”
Mechanics & Tools is a part of our Design & Usability group. We are around 80 engineers working with development of hearing solutions within the fields of Mechanics, Electro-Acoustics, and Usability. Our responsibility for design begins from the very early technology explorations to ramping up in mass production.
We seek to deliver an intuitive and seamless user experience and interact with internal and external stakeholders across Device SW and HW. In collaboration with the Electronics group, we develop the complete Hardware Platforms consisting of both mechanical and electronic parts.
“The group focuses on mechanical part of the development, we play a small part in the big picture, i.e. the finished product. Sometimes we need to understand the bigger picture to understand the part we are working with, and the cool part of being a part of the R&D department here at Oticon is, that we have the whole circle of product development in-house. So, if you have a question for a colleague, you just get up, walk a few steps, and the person is sitting just there” says Ebbe
Mechanical engineer with a natural curiosity
You have a degree in mechanical engineering or similar, and already have some experience in the field.
We are looking for experience and interest within:
We work with agile product development like Scrum and SAFe, so if you are not familiar with it already, you should have an interest to work in the agile framework.
“We like to explorer boundaries, which means we always look towards what can be done better, and always with the end user’s needs in mind. Everything thing we do better, even the smallest thing, can make a difference to our users” says Ebbe
We are expanding in the Design and Usability Group and are also looking for Senior Engineers for some of our other teams. Please see the job ads titled “Senior mechanical engineer with a curious mindset” or “Senior mechanical engineer for global MedTech”
It’s important for us that you find the position that is best for you, so feel free to upload your application if you are curious about and interested in one or more of the other positions.
Join our team!
Apart from working together with very enthusiastic colleagues you will experience that we have great focus on your competence development, the department’s professional skills and in Work-life balance.
Please send your CV and motivation letter latest 11th of June. We will conduct interviews as we get the applications. If you would like to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact Team Manager for Mechanics & Tools, Ebbe Jannes Larsen +45 4149 9438
