DRC (Danish Refugee Council), one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Project Grants and Finance Officer to work in the Programme Division among others supporting exiting new BPRM funded projects.

About the job

The position will be based in HQ and report to Head(s) of Unit under the Programme Division, and lead on all finance and grant management in relation the BRPM funded project, in line with relevant BPRM policies and protocols. Daily collaboration with be with the project teams in the HQ level unit under the Programme Division, HQ finance and other support functions as well as counterparts on relevant country operations.

The contract is part time (30 hours per week) with opportunity for full-time after 6-12 months subject to funding and the interest of the selected candidate. The contract is 36 months (Start Sep/Oct 2021 TBC - subject to funding confirmation).

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring that contractual obligations are met in terms of finance and administrative requirements.
  • Ensuring that Donor rules and procedures are understood and respected.
  • Ensuring financial monitoring and budget follow-up and supporting project teams in budget planning.
  • Supporting project managers to ensure implementation of projects according to work and budget plans.
  • Supporting project managers in Donor and internal reporting requirements; prepare financial reports and align with narrative; review narrative in line with agreement and proposal.
  • Liaising with the Donor (e.g. reports, grants management and administrative issues).
  • Leading on all sub-contracts/agreements with partners, and ensure they align with donor regulations.
  • Processing partner payments, and all other related payments related to the projects.
  • Supporting project team on Dynamics (ERP) transactions (such as personal expense reports etc.).
  • Leading on all procurement processes in line with DRC and Donor rules.
  • Supporting M&E on projects, when required.
  • Ensuring all grant documentation is up to date and uploaded to Dynamics (ERP).
  • Supporting any other finance and administrative tasks for the units as and when required.
  • Helpdesk function for implementing country operations (in coordination with HQ donor focal points).

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to previously have excelled in a similar role with responsibility for the financial and grant management of all stages of a project, and preferably with US (BRPM) funding. Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience from a humanitarian/development organisation and/or from donor administration in similar position.
  • Relevant educational background (university degree or equivalent) and proven finance qualification.
  • Experience with general, and preferably BPRM, grant management including donor relations. Knowledge about donor guidelines and procedures.
  • Experience working in an ERP system.
  • Experience with administrative and procurement procedures.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. French will be a significant asset.
  • Proactive, flexible and detail-oriented approach to tasks and a service-minded approach.
  • Good collaboration and communication skills and ability to build good working relations with people from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.

We offer

Contract length: 3 years (subject to funding). The position is limited to 3 years due to temporary funding from the donor.

Work place: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen. Please note that you need to have right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa) in order to be considered for this role.

Start date: 1 October, or sooner if possible and subject to funding confirmation

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and HK or AC. If AC, the candidate is hired at “Fuldmægtig” level. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
