As a Student Assistant in Corporate Strategy at VIKING, you will join a dynamic and focused team responsible for high-level strategic initiatives. Our team oversees various strategic disciplines, including guiding the corporate strategy, assisting in business development efforts, project management, and offering strategic and valuation support in M&A processes. We also serve as internal consultants within the VIKING group.

Student assistants are an important part of the VIKING organization. Many of our students also complete their internships with us and write their thesis about real life projects and challenges in VIKING.

Your primary responsibilities and tasks includes:

  • Market and Industry Analysis – conduct research on market trends, and analyzing the competitive landscape
  • Corporate Development – assist in analyzing and evaluating growth opportunities within specific business segments or regions
  • Strategic Workshops – facilitate or co-facilitate strategy workshops, contribution to brainstorming sessions, ideation and action planning
  • Project Management Support – assist and take on responsibilities in various departmental and cross-departmental projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and contributing to process improvements
  • Financial Modelling Assistance – collaborate in developing and updating financial and valuation models
  • M&A Support – assist in researching potential M&A opportunities, gathering information, organizing data for analysis and assisting with preliminary valuation analyses
  • Reporting and Communication – prepare detailed reports and assist in communicating findings and insights to team members and stakeholders

You will work approximately 15-20 hours a week (2-3 full days) – with flexibility around exam periods. The job comes with the option to work from our satellite office in Aarhus or headquarter in Esbjerg.

Your profile
The ideal candidate is currently studying a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration, Economics or any related study with a strong interest in business, economics and strategy and have at least 1 year left of studies.

  • Thrive in a busy global environment and bring a can-do attitude
  • Possess analytical skills to make sure decisions are based on data and facts, to the maximum extent possible
  • Can maintain a sense of humor, even when the workload is high

Since our corporate language is English, you have great English skills – both written and orally.
