Front End Developer – JavaScript

In this role, you will report to the Global HW/SW Manager and work within close-knit teams responsible for development projects from the conceptual phase to the launch of new machinery. Your responsibility will be the user interface, where you’ll develop HTML/JavaScript-based HMIs for Struers’ machines. Emphasis is placed on writing code that is both efficient and easy to maintain. In the projects you participate in, you’ll oversee front-end development and collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to effectively implement visually appealing applications, design concepts, and user interactions.

You’ll also work alongside project managers, scrum masters, architects, and other international colleagues from hardware and software – cultivating strong teamwork with both front-end and automation engineers to seamlessly integrate frontend functionalities with backend services.

Other tasks include:

• Developing web-based user interfaces for controlling Struers machines
• Monitoring (benchmarking/profiling) and improving HMI performance
• Developing new components and utilizing existing ones from shared platform libraries
• Participate as lead front-end developer in multi-discipline development projects
• Handing over the product and documentation to production and maintenance.

Your Experience and Skills

You probably have an engineering degree in software development, complemented by some years of experience in web-based development environments. You’re open to working with new technologies and may have an interest in having your front-end coding impact physical movement/robotics. You possess a strong and professional understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript/SASS and HTML, and you have experience working with objects and parallel processes. Additionally, you’re familiar with Git and GitHub. You will be working in a platform free Web Components based architecture. Experience with platforms such as Vue.js and React.js is, however, relevant.

As a person, you’re driven to develop high-quality code, understanding that a keen aesthetic sense goes a long way. You have the ability to comprehend complex structures and abstract software architecture. Self-motivated and analytical, you’re eager to take responsibility for front-end development at Struers. You’re a good communicator, actively supporting positive working relationships with colleagues and partners across projects. You speak and write English proficiently and are willing to travel 10-15 days a year to colleagues in Czech Republic.
