Laboratory Supervisor at Aalborg Portlands Group Quality Competence Centre
Are you passionate about supervising others and setting high-quality control standards? Then you might be our new Laboratory Supervisor being responsible for our 14 highly skilled employees working at the laboratory in our Group Quality Competence Centre at Aalborg Portland A/S.
As a Laboratory Supervisor your main tasks and areas of responsibility are
What we expect from you
We expect from you that you hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemist or quality management specialty. Further, it is a big plus if you have great LEAN competencies from previous experience. For you to succeed in the position it is a must that you have 5-10 years of relevant experience from positions in the field laboratory, Accreditation Laboratory System, Quality System of cement, concrete or other cementitious materials. As you will be working in an international environment it is important that you speak/write English at high level. To run a laboratory accurately and efficiently it is a must that you have a combination of analytical, communication and reasoning skills. As you have colleagues working globally you can expect to travel 10-15 days per year.

As a Laboratory Supervisor your main tasks and areas of responsibility are
- Daily management of the Chemical, Physical Mechanical and Concrete Unit
- Manage requests from different customers (internal and external) by establishing priorities based on the current workflow
- Manage routine testing outsourced by Aalborg Portland’s quality and process control
- Management of the staff, ensuring that all employees receive proper training and work properly always complying with necessary rules and regulations
- Support the work of researchers and technicians.
- Manage the accredited “Cement and Concrete Laboratory”
- Ensures adherence to lab standards and practices to maximize safety and operational effectiveness
- Handle maintenance and development of the physical unit (Mortar and Special Mortar) services, including collaboration with external customers and external laboratories
- Responsible for handling test results of calibration samples, internal reference material and external round robin testing for physical & chemical laboratory
- Ensure that existing legislation, health and safety rules and other relevant regulations are observed
