As our new Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Assistant, you will be a member of our Group Sourcing and CSR team, supporting the footwear sourcing and buying teams across all hummel business units.
hummel is on an exciting growth journey and we have ambitious goals in our footwear category. We are therefore looking for a proactive and diligent Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Assistant who will manage the group footwear supplier portfolio and ensure that all suppliers live up to the high standards stated in our footwear supplier manual.
You’ll be responsible for sourcing and vetting new suppliers according to our group sourcing strategy and due diligence process, as well as ensuring that all factories are fully compliant with hummel’s ethical code of conduct, supplier manual, safety manual and chemical restriction list.
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for:
As our Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Assistant you will be reporting into the Head of Group Sourcing, Buying and CSR, and will work closely with our Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Operator on apparel. Additionally, you will be in regular contact with our Footwear Sourcing Office in China, as well as our QC offices in other regions as & when necessary. You will also work closely with the footwear sourcing & buying teams in hummel’s three business units. And finally, you will be in daily contact with our footwear suppliers in the Far East and Turkey.

You will be based at our headquarters placed near the harbor in the center of Aarhus and part of a team of 250 colleagues, who are ready to welcome you on board.

We are therefore looking for a proactive and diligent Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Assistant who will manage the group footwear supplier portfolio and ensure that all suppliers live up to the high standards stated in our footwear supplier manual.
You’ll be responsible for sourcing and vetting new suppliers according to our group sourcing strategy and due diligence process, as well as ensuring that all factories are fully compliant with hummel’s ethical code of conduct, supplier manual, safety manual and chemical restriction list.
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for:
- Following up on factory audits, ensuring all factories always have a valid audit and remediation plans are followed.
- Continuously improving the quality of our products in close collaboration with our footwear sourcing & buying teams.
- Visiting our footwear suppliers and Jinjiang sourcing office regularly to build relationships, help solve production issues and occasionally carry out inspections and/or hummel audits.
- Ensuring that all products live up to hummel’s high-quality standards as stated in our supplier manual and are labelled correctly.
- Taking ownership of the chemical footwear testing programme across all business units.
- Staying updated on EU directives and national regulations in the countries we sell in concerning materials, labelling, and packaging etc.
- Handling any potential claims on footwear including expecting the goods at our warehouse, investigate the matter and liaise with our buyers and suppliers.
What we are looking for
As our Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Assistant you will be reporting into the Head of Group Sourcing, Buying and CSR, and will work closely with our Group Sourcing, CSR & Quality Operator on apparel. Additionally, you will be in regular contact with our Footwear Sourcing Office in China, as well as our QC offices in other regions as & when necessary. You will also work closely with the footwear sourcing & buying teams in hummel’s three business units. And finally, you will be in daily contact with our footwear suppliers in the Far East and Turkey.
- Ideally, you have a degree in production and experience from a similar role. However, this is not an absolute requirement as we can provide the necessary training internally.
- You must, however, be able to easily grasp production methods, materials, and quality standards.
- Experience from the sports footwear industry is a plus.
- You must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
- You enjoy working closely with other cultures.
- You have a logical/technical mindset.
- You are proactive, solution oriented and a self-starter.
- You are willing and able to travel up to 80-100 days/year.
