Let’s talk about the role

As Director and IT Business Owner, you will be responsible for partnering with the business to define and deliver on Global Quality and Corporate Facilities’ digital strategies. You will be engaging with many stakeholders, most of them at the C-level. Along with this you will be maturing the agile ways of working across teams. This responsibility comes with people management of 25 employees, 10 with direct referral, 15 with indirect referral and 40 external consultants.

Overall key responsibilities are:

  • Drive the strategy processes, preparing, and defining the business context and vision, such as a new road map.
  • Lead multifunctional work groups created to carry out strategic projects and prepare for a broad upgrade of the target architecture and system portfolio.
  • Take the leadership of existing employees and the expanding number of externals following agile people leader principles.
  • Align with stakeholders and agile release trains (ARTs) to ensure product viability.
  • Work on ART budgets and operational excellence with the Business Owners, Release Train Engineers, Product Management, and the Lean Portfolio Management function.
  • Communicate and help drive the technical product delivery.
  • Contribute to ART events.
  • Be in charge of operational and strategic vendor management.

What we are looking for

We believe that the right candidate for this role comes with a background from which most of the following can be ticked off:

  • 8+ years professional experience whereof most of them are in a people leading role.
  • Experience within the Pharma industry is preferred but not a requirement.
  • Strong system and service management experience.
  • Strong program experience.
  • Solid experience with Agile methodologies and the ability to drive the product throughout all investment cycles, ensuring the right balance between enabler- and user stories.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder management.
  • A master’s or similar graduate degree in relevant field, which could be in Software Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent job experience.

We are looking for a candidate bringing strong personal, communication and networking skills. On top of that an open mindset seeking out new innovative ways of working.

With English as our business language, it is a requirement to be fluent in both written and speaking.

The team waiting for you

With this role, you will be joining the area DD&IT Staffs within DD&IT – the digital, data and IT partner to all of Novo Nordisk. It’s an area with +200 diverse and dedicated employees working in Denmark, India, and the United States. In DD&IT Staffs, you will be leading the Quality & Facilities IT department which is overall responsible for the technologies to quality and facilities across Novo Nordisk. This performed through daily support, system maintenance, system releases, participation in projects and customer activities.

The department is highly engaged and skilled, has a good atmosphere, and shares knowledge and best practices. We are used to working in DevOps setups and have recently engaged in an ART to transition one of our platforms into the future new Veeva Vault Quality platform.
