For KEBE A/S we’re seeking an experienced and international orientated Development Director with solid experience from the furniture industry.
THE COMPANY
KEBE is a technological front-runner when it comes to development, production and sale of furniture in cold-cure moulded foam. For 40 years, KEBE have been creating simple, contemporary design-led furniture using this unique and particularly durable material. Good craftsmanship, creative curiosity and the courage to challenge the status quo are the driving force behind the success story.
The mission is to develop modern quality furniture at competitive prices. The product development takes place in close cooperation with some of the best furniture designers of the time - among others Says Who, Hans Thyge & Co. and Jacob Würtzen. We control the entire design and development process with drawings, prototypes, 3-D scans, 5-axis machining, production of castings and metal frames, processing of cold-cure foam, adaptation of upholstery, and rounds of intensive testing - all done under our own roof.
In the recent years, KEBE has experienced significant growth and has made major investments in own production facilities and development department in Poland and China. We have offices in Stilling near Aarhus and in Poland, where all back-up functions and administration are placed.
The products are sold throughout Europe and in several overseas markets through leading furniture chains and specialty / department stores – both via agents, distributers and directly to the customer. The export share is steadily increasing, both as a result of increased sales to existing customers and continuous penetration of new markets.

THE POSITION
As a vital element in our ambitious growth strategy, we’re seeking an experienced and highly executing Development Director to expand and optimize our product range and support our commercial activities.
A significant part of the daily work will be carried out at our production sites in Poland and China, and you must expect to travel up to 120 days a year.

QUALIFICATIONS
You have several years of experience from a similar role in an internationally oriented furniture company with own production and product development. You have deep insight in the development and production processes for moulded foam products and a strong sense for commercial design.
You’re used to close collaboration with colleagues and partners across cultures and have an intercultural insight and personality that contributes to an open, honest and trusting relationship.
As a person, you are energetic, dedicated, persistent and you possess a natural winning mentality. At the same time, it is crucial that you are a true team player who strives to succeed as team and not as a “on -man army”. You value honesty, delivery on promises and a straight forward, solution-oriented way of doing business.
And last but not least, you are passionate about great design and high quality - and you know what it takes to develop products and concepts following and supporting our fundamental value and idea of “Creative Craftsmanship”.
OTHER ISSUES
Language: English fluent both oral and in writing.
Location: Flexible (DK, Poland, China)
Travel: Up to 120 days per year.
Working hours: Flexible
Salary: Competitive base salary, health insurance, cell phone, IT, internet connection etc.

THE POSITION

Design and product portfolio management
- Develop, design and drive strategic product assortment plans to increase profitability focusing on higher sell categories.
- Define strategic guidelines for collection development, both existing categories and new.
- Contribute and influence the management team; evaluate product portfolio, bring innovation to product ranges and enhancing profitability.
- Develop new product collections.
Organization & leadership
- Organize and lead the product development department in Poland.
- Continuously create synergies between the functions.
- Close cooperation with external designers.
- Participate in the dialogue with key clients.
Operation & Processes
- Implement clear guidelines and processes in product development.
- Handover and start up process in production and follow up on quality.
- Continue to build close relationship with suppliers to source products.
Strategy & Budget
- Define price strategy, margin, cost, allocation and product lifecycle.
- Responsible for product development budget.
Present & Implement
- Build a strong relationship across the business, communicate effectively with all functions sharing experiences and best practice through the business.
