Fortum Recycling and Waste is recruiting!

City Solutions division is responsible for developing sustainable city solutions into a growing business for Fortum. The division comprises heating and cooling, waste-to-energy, recycling and expertise sales. In the division, Recycling and Waste business area provides recycling and material efficiency services, environmental management and hazardous waste treatment in the Nordics. .
Fortum Recycling and Waste leads the change towards a low-emission energy system and optimal use of resources. The goal is to support customers’ business by conserving natural resources and promoting circular economy. Fortum Recycling and Waste works together with customers to build smart and sustainable solutions for ensuring the circulation of valuable materials and the removal of harmful substances from the material cycle.
As the Fortum’s Recycling and Waste business is steadily growing, we are also developing our organization and its management. We are now looking for a leader who is part of ensuring the future development and the overall success of the Recycling and Waste business.
Your role
This is a completely new high impact role in the heart of Fortum’s Recycling and Waste business in Denmark. As a lead of Shared Services team, it is an opportunity for you as a leader to be part of a business that will ensure a greener future for all of us.
Purpose of your Shared Services team is to provide support to both current Waste Management Business Line and in future also Material Business Lines at country level, safety and security development, environmental permitting and legislation follow-up. Shared Services is responsible of country level public affairs and other stakeholder management, including the stakeholder impacting activities. In coordination from Operational Excellence, your responsibility of safety and security work is wide from development and coaching activity, through systematic culture development to reporting and executing internal auditing work.
Environmental permitting and location management are core part of our business performance, and needs to be done to secure sustainable operations and to support growth of Material Business Lines. You will also manage business on export/import permit management and overall and proactive authority cooperation around the responsibility area.
Country level laboratory operations serving all Business Lines will be executed under your responsibility as part of Shared Service Team. This to ensure synergistic laboratory services and development ensuring growth and scalability.
With high quality public affairs management and stakeholder communication your team is ensuring that business is aware, can follow and react to legislation changes. We also want to ensure that our point of view is considered in decision making forums.

Your qualifications
To succeed, we need people with varying backgrounds, people who are curious and eager to make an impact. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience in recycling and waste business, with management experience and strong understanding of permit requirements at waste management and business operations. Earlier experience of safety and security development and management is seen as benefit.
You do have excellent communication and co-operation skills, and you are able to operate at multi-stakeholder environment both with internal and external. You are able to adapt, understand and learn different business models to enable strong support to all different Business Lines.
You have relevant educational background. Local language is a must, and fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
