Are you looking for an opportunity to thrive with planning and a large stakeholder group, and with having +100 activities reporting into the shutdown? Are you ready to be our colleague who is in front and ensure all cross coordination of the entire plant during a summer shutdown?

Then you might be our specialised project manager, who we call our Shutdown Manager, who year-round have the program overview of planning and executing the shutdowns of our production site.

The position

As the Shutdown Manager, you’ll have the strategic overview of all shutdowns in the plant, interact, plan and report to senior management. Our site has an FP area where 9 productions lines and a fully automated material handling system has a joined two weeklong summer shutdown, and our aseptic area (AP) has a three-week summer shutdown. The scattered around the year are smaller shutdowns (24 hours), where you also do shutdown coordination in order to make sure that activities are aligned and don’t conflict.

Your stakeholder landscape is large and diverse – activity owners, project managers, site management, system and process owners, logistic, specialist and vendors - all having different need and inputs for shutdown – you’ll have to unite them all. Furthermore, you will also:

  • Work strategical with shutdown timing and durations and are a trusted partner for the site management.
  • Be process responsible for the shutdown standard and work continuously with optimization of how you run the shutdown planning and executing.
  • Align scope and conditions with all activities following our shutdown process, you focus on prioritization and dependencies.
  • Plan and align with focus on involvement and stakeholder satisfaction.

During the summer shutdown you will be handed over the “keys” to the plant, and now it is up to you and the activities that we in teamwork execute as expected in due time and quality, and if it is needed you must be able to facilitate and handle changes to the plan and other unforeseen problems.

There are not 2 shutdowns that are the same, new challenges will appear during every shutdown and you will be in a positive and ambitious site where we all do our outmost to support the production to our patients.

This is a fun, challenging and independent job for you, who are prepared to have vacation outside “normal” vacation periods. Your summer vacation would mostly be in august, due to shutdowns in July.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher academic education within engineering, pharmaceutical or similar supplemented with at least 5 years working experience including a few years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Project Management experience or similar experience of coordinating tasks and processed across different functions, it will be an advantage if you have experience from an GMP environment. The role has similarities to a program manager, or a portfolio manager, so that background will also fit.

  • Good communication skills with experience of working cross functionally and building relations with stakeholders at all organisational levels. You are up for the task of working with a lot of stakeholders with different interest and expectations to the shutdown and you can set the scene and control the progress and direction.
  • Fluent, spoken and written, in English. Danish will be considered highly beneficial but not a requirement.

On a personal level, you are pro-active and thrive with driving tasks independently to the finish line. You are structured and likes to work with planning. You can keep the overview of a lot of activities with dependencies. Based on your structured approach to your work, you can juggle several tasks while prioritising your efforts optimally by keeping the bigger picture in mind. You are a team player, and you quickly build strong working relationships.

About the department

The Shutdown Manager is belonging to the Project Management Office (PMO) with the Senior Manager as manager. Working together with our Project Portfolio Managers and our more than 30 project managers, we take a project approach to shutdown management.
