In Novo Nordisk, we are investing in a state-of-the-art new API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) manufacturing facilities to support the company portfolio of future oral and injectable pharmaceuticals. Than join us as Process Engineer for PAT (Process Analytical Technology). Read on to find out more! The Position In the position you will be responsible for a novel in-line based control strategy for a state-of-the-art fermentation facility. You will work to enable real time measurements and quality control by in-line equipment. This will allow for real time decision-making and a reduction in laboratory samples to be analysed. You will be part of developing the control strategy, specifying, and testing different types of measurement equipment as well as specifying how generated analytical data should be gathered, communicated and used. You will drive the development towards:
  • Real time monitoring of the fermentation process
  • Reactive and predictive dynamic fermentation process regulation
  • Build-up of in-depth process knowledge of the fermentation process
  • Reduction and elimination of time-consuming quality control samples handled in the laboratories
  • By the above you will help us create a stable process, delivering quality product to downstream processes.
  • Qualifications You are a strong collaborator across functions and systems. You have a can-do attitude, a solid understanding of the fermentation process and the analytical equipment to be applied. You are familiar with setting requirements to process and equipment, and you have demonstrated that you can take innovative ideas all the way from design over testing and installation to verification. Experience from collaboration with functions such as manufacturing development, engineering partners, analytical laboratories and manufacturing will be an advantage. To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • As a minimum a bachelor degree in sciences, engineering or similar or a very strong background as laboratory technician
  • Experience from relevant manufacturing processes, preferable manufacturing development, but also production or the laboratory
  • A solid understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain, documentation, regulatory requirements, and GMP
  • Knowledge of and interest in in-line based control strategy featuring novel in-line sensors and technology
  • Preferable experience with sensor technology, Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and chemometrics, hardware and software, IT and data architecture, interfaces, and automation
  • English proficiency both verbal and written
