As Global Head of Tax you will develop and drive our tax management ecosystem. Coming with a strong background within tax and being able to navigate the rapidly changing environment is key for being successful in this role. You will develop and implement tax strategy, drive the use of technology, oversee the tax compliance process and secure timely reporting.
With excellent relationship building skills, you will take the initiative in creating new relationships and consolidating our existing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders alike. This involves being able to lead internal resources, engage with and manage relationships with external service providers, and build upon our relationships with tax authorities globally to enhance relationships.
You will be our trusted advisor with direct report to the CFO, being responsible for developing and rolling out a global tax control framework which is embedded in the way we operate across the administrative functions.
It is expected that our Global Head of Tax will be able to work collaboratively with our Senior Executives to develop and implement tax planning strategies including in respect of IPR, R&D, production and sales, and support the overall growth vision of our company.
You will be part of a global growth-oriented biopharmaceutical company and you will build a top-class Group Tax function leveraging internal and external resources.

A Global Tax Leader
You will be part of a global growth-oriented biopharmaceutical company and you will build a top-class Group Tax function leveraging internal and external resources.
As such, your main tasks and responsibilities will be to:
- Develop a best-in-class Tax Control Framework
- Maintain a positive, results oriented, hands-on work environment around tax structuring, planning, reporting and compliance
- Establish tax policies and tax strategy aligned with the overall business plan/strategy
- Be an efficient employee leader of a Tax Function that you structure
- Add value to relations with tax authorities and take part in enhanced relationships
- Introduce and challenge the operating model and use of technology
- Represent Ascendis Pharma during tax audits incl. coordination with internal stakeholders
- Be an efficient problem solver looking outside the tax function and holistically at the Group
- Bring forward deep tax technical knowledge to practical solutions and effective commercial advice
- Manage the overall responsibility for:
- Transfer Pricing
- Global Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance (incl. Withholding tax etc.)
- Ensure that we are compliant with IAS12, IFRIC23 and IAS37 for our tax provisioning and calculation methods of ETR
Is this you?
The successful candidate holds a Masters’ degree within tax, accounting or law from a university or business school, and demonstrates:
- Strategic, analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to leverage prior experience to identify issues, actively engage in solution management, and interface with a variety of tax and non-tax professionals
- Highly accountable with an innovative and collaborative management style
- Executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, internal business units and external advisors
- Experience in tax planning related to one or more areas of IPR, R&D, production and sales
- Experience working at a fast-paced, dynamic multi-national public company environment is a plus
- Experience from a similar position or from an accounting/law firm
