Release Train Engineer

This is a key role in support of Maersk Technology's movement to platform-based development and increased usage of microservices, including (but not limited to) disconnected cloud platform (Azure). Joining Maersk Technology as an Engineering Manager will enable you to gain broad business knowledge of the company’s activities globally, in addition to understanding how the complexity of technology supports the digitized transport and logistics business. The role operates using agile methodology delivering timely and effective cyber security of general and bespoke solutions.

Key responsibilities

•Responsible for delivering security solutions delivered by scrum teams. Responsible for building team, retention, training and career progression of team members.
•Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments and drive relentless improvement.
•Responsible for creating Program Increment Plan (quarterly) and Program Increment roadmap (1-3 Program Increments).
•Deliver security solutions for Maersk and interface with appropriate 3rd party teams as required.
•Contribute to multi-year backlog / roadmap composition with other Engineering Managers and Product Owners.
•Guide Scrum Masters in timely delivery of sprints to achieve program increment, liasing and interfacing with other cyber security roles as required.
•Manage governance around financials, contracting and performance parameters.
•Ensure strong cost management practices & accurate program increment budgeting and reporting.
•Responsible for driving security improvement from design through delivery and into operations through good practices and representing the importance and business benefit of Cyber Security.
•Take the lead on Cyber Security solutions - drawing on your previous knowledge, self-learning and formal training. Embedding Secure-by-Design and Secure Development Life Cycle principles as part of DevSecOps
•Ability to apply security principles and good practice to manage security and risk in cloud environments., e.g. authentication, role-based access, encryption
•Articulate identified risk during development to Business Owners and help mitigate - implementing suitable, cost-effective security measures throughout development phases (Agile/DevOps)
•Discuss and analyse requirements with business stakeholders, and design high quality seamless solutions, balancing Cyber Security versus business value trade-offs.
•Work with multiple solution design options, and recommend the most appropriate solution considering business priorities, technical feasibility, return on investment and delivery timelines.
•Participate in work estimation, scope definition and delivery planning activities.
•Deliver the technical capabilities corresponding to the user stories described in the product backlog.
•Manage technical debt and technology trade-offs, communicating those to the product owner
•Ensure implementation quality and that correct procedures are in place to assure code and feature quality
•Work closely with other interdependent engineering managers to produce required design specifications and ensure solutions work together and fulfill business needs
•Work with organizational resources outside team to remove impediments.
•Develop team's skills to be able to deliver product roadmap according to industry best practices
•Professional development, inputs to performance management and guidance to the scrum team members
•Drive agile thinking and ways of working to maximise collaboration and value creation
•Ensure the scrum team provide an accurate estimation of the development time to the product owners

We are looking for

•Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or 5+ years relevant work experience
•Minimum of 2 years’ Experience working in a Senior technical delovery role
•Experience of working in an agile environment and application of Cyber Security within DEVSECOPS with a good understanding of customer centric design principles and software development.
•Knowledge of compliance standards like CIS, NIST in conjunction with PCI-DSS and GDPR. With working knowledge of secure development practices and standards such as OWASP and BSIMM especially on cloud providers
•Proven ability to coach and develop others continuously improve and shape the agile approach to suit the Digital organization
•Excellent team working, collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to remove roadblocks (technical & business) for teams with strong communication, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills.
•Ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of teams / leaders and able to influence without authority.
•Proven ability & technical knowledge to coordinate & deliver technical solutions.
•Knowledge of Cyber Security principles and able to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
•Solid grasp of lean agile practices, scaling, opportunities, challenges and failitating continuous alignment of a platform.
•Experience of delivering Technical consultancy within a Digital/Cloud setting.
•Assisting integration of new digital products with Security Operations for Detect/Respond/Recover cyber incidents.
•Demonstrable experience of security automation, and implementation of Azure cloud native tools to maximise their effectiveness
•Experience or Knowledge of scaling approaches such as SAFe and experience of Agile Coaching or Qualifications
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with Stakeholder management and interpersonal skills at both a technical and non-technical level
•Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks with a proven ability to work and effectively prioritize in a dynamic, collaborative and decentralized work environment
