As our new Wireless & Network Engineer you will work in a diverse team with members from multiple time zones consisting of Integrators, Network Engineers, Solution Architects and project managers to deliver highly technical Wireless & Network environments that range from smaller standalone deliveries to full industrial end-to-end networks.
These environments are business critical as they are used to support our day-to-day operations. As such you must have previous hands on experience with designing, configuring and optimizing Wi-Fi and access networks for complex industrial environments such as shipping terminals, container depots, distribution centers and/or complex manufacturing environments.
Typically, this position will be managing our standardization and best practice efforts while also undertaking several projects within our Industrial Technology space and endorse the relationship with the local terminal IT teams.
Once a project is initiated, you will, together with a team of project resources, be responsible for site surveys, designs, configurations and optimization of the wireless and network infrastructure until the complete fulfilment of the project, ensuring the continuity from initiation to delivery, actively seeking to improve schedule and cost with consideration to terminals satisfaction and APMT’s business objectives since these programs often have visible impact on the terminal operations and corporate results.

•Define and develop wireless design standards for APMT Wireless implementations at Architectural level
•Have extensive knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP).
•Create and publish Wi-Fi design, configuration, deployment and testing documents to local terminals to implement and follow
•Manage firewalls, such as Palo Alto, Juniper or Cisco ASA.
•Produce low level industrial wireless designs, implement, configure and optimize 802.11 (Wi-Fi) network solutions comprising of Cisco Enterprise products for industrial environments for ongoing WLAN projects, hereunder;
oHands on experience configuring wireless infrastructure

oUnderstand client requirements to be able to cater to their appropriate needs.
oDesign and validate the performance, quality, and reliability of the RF link.
oDesign and implement WLANs and other wireless networks.
oDevise and support radio frequencies (RF) link performance, reliability, and quality.
oOptimize network performance by supervising performance, addressing network problems and breakdowns, and partnering with network engineers to optimize the network.
oUse tools to evaluate to test and tweak wireless products, such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, virtual private networks (VPNs), and network amplifiers, among others.
•Deployment of industrial specific protocols and solutions for supporting Automation of industrial Container Handling Equipment (CHE)
•Make use of enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Centre).
•Deploy and config other end-client support systems such as Mobile Device Manager (MDM), etc.
•Assist Test Team with Wi-Fi testing.
•Secure terminal Wi-Fi network access using 802.1X authentication protocols - configured and managed by Cisco ISE, or other approved security implementations
•Hardening Cisco Wireless LANs per Cisco best practices and Maersk Cyber Security Risk Assessments
•Monitor security bulletins and bug reports to ensure proper software levels and patches are used and deployed in our industrial environments
•Collaborate with Architecture team providing input towards a standardized network strategy for WLAN networks.
•Participate in and drive continued development of Industrial Wi-Fi solutions to meet new business requirements.
•Investigate and push for new standards, vendor innovation in the wireless realm, for potential use in our industrial environments.
•Develop and implement policies and classify and oversee access to protect network systems.
•Work with security team to evaluate threats, troubleshoot issues, and comply with appropriate security configuration standards of their organizations.
•Design and deploy changes to the configurations of clients as per the applicable change management process.
•Proactively handle all network security solutions.
•Make use of testing and diagnostic tools to assess and modify equipment.
