Student assistant to join Maersk’s treasury
This is a great opportunity for a driven finance or economics student to join one of the premier corporate treasury teams in the Nordics, covering all regions of the world. As student assistant you will be part of Global Cash Management, a closely-knit team of 12 finance professionals who share responsibility for the company’s exposure to financial market risk, global liquidity management, and transaction banking infrastructure. As a member of our team, you will be exposed to a wide range of areas within treasury and should expect breadth of development and a steep learning curve.

The wider Treasury & Risk team employs approximately 50 professionals of 12 nationalities. We are the global corporate center for financing, bank relationships, insurance, cash management and financial market risk.
Key responsibilities
As student assistant in the treasury team, you will gain a hands-on experience of the financial management of a truly global corporate. Your responsibilities will rotate in the team and we will ensure to make this more than a job, but an investment for you in terms of skillset and knowledge. Some examples of tasks that you would be responsible for, alone or jointly with a colleague, could be:
- Monitor and develop our management of currency risk hedging.
- Analyze our banking relationships to ensure we leverage our partner banks to their full potential.
- Leverage our systems landscape and process to ensure cost efficiency in our bank account infrastructure.
- Drive our connectivity with stakeholders throughout the world through dialogue and electronic channels.
- Updating and developing our performance scorecard
Who we are looking for
We think you are an aspiring and driven finance or economics student, who combines analytical skills with an outgoing personality and prefers teamwork over running alone. You are keen to learn new things and also to relate your studies to substance matter in a “real-world” setting, and possibly get inputs and steer for a Master’s thesis.
You are service minded and not afraid of getting exposure to stakeholders, also outside of the treasury team. You bring a positive spirit everywhere you go, and do not mind stepping in when others in the team need assistance.
