Joining Maersk’s People Function (HR) will embark you on a great journey with career development in a global organisation. We aim to be a world-class professional People Partnering Organisation that provides high impact services to our transforming business through data-driven insights, automation, standardization and innovation.
We believe people thrive when they are in charge of their career paths and professional growth. We will provide you with opportunities to broaden your knowledge and strengthen your technical and professional foundation.
As Workforce Planning Specialist, you will understand how the complexity of HR supports the transport and logistics business, while gaining broad business knowledge of the company’s activities globally. You will be exposed to a wide and challenging range of workforce and business issues through regular engagement with key stakeholders across all management levels, working and communicating across geographical and cultural borders.
Maersk Headquarters is a highly international and inspiring environment with an attractive value proposition for the employees. As part of ensuring a successful work-life balance we promote flexible work hours and the possibility to work from home when convenient.
As a performance-oriented company, we strive to always recruit the best person for the job – regardless of gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high-performing teams.
Key responsibilities
As a Workforce Planning Specialist you'll play a key role in building our capability for connecting people (HR) and finance data, processes, systems and insights to our business strategy.
You can expect to handle a wide variety of tasks, for example, helping to develop and maintain workforce forecasting & modelling tools, liaising with other specialist-level stakeholders across business functions to obtain critical planning input, consolidating external market insights required to support talent supply modelling, and delivering ongoing workforce planning activities.
The ‘ongoing activities’ will likely consist of gathering and organizing required data, preparing tools and information packages for HR Business Partners to use and consume, responding to a variety of ad hoc queries including testing the potential efficacy of planned workforce management interventions, and implementing & tracking follow up measures for key HR interventions.
Reporting to the Workforce Planning Manager within the People Data & Analytics unit, you and your teammates will work a high degree of independence to execute our function’s strategy for the benefit of our internal customers, that is, leaders and cross-functional specialists. You will bring a unique skill set into the mix, and we will find all possible ways to leverage it and help you develop in other areas.
Your input on how we should improve things will be welcomed - from increasing data quality & compliance which impacts on WFP delivery, to adapting the way we test ideas and tell stories with data for converting insight into action. We are just now establishing a formal Workforce Planning approach in Maersk.
You will also have the chance to influence and participate in important cross-functional projects, such as rolling out new reporting & analytics tools, which would require close collaboration with e.g. Technology and Finance.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have solid business understanding and broad knowledge of HR, workforce/skills data, and financial planning processes, with an ability to learn fast and connect all the dots.
You have an advanced university degree and some experience working in an international organisation on global projects. Preferably some direct experience with: organizational psychology concepts, human capital management systems, data storytelling, training end user communities, and change management as well as experience with cloud-based workforce intelligence software.
You have an analytical mindset, including the ability to translate complex issues into pragmatic solutions combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and consulting skills – essential for building trust and collaborating with colleagues across business units and geographies.
Furthermore you:
- Have demonstrated ability distilling analytics to improve business performance, and the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical team members and colleagues
- •Have a passion for ensuring internal customers are satisfied and feel like valued partners
- Have a quality mindset, including HR data literacy, a focus on ethics & privacy, and a very good eye for detail

- Have the ability to multi-task and deliver on competing priorities
- Have solid experience working with data and analytics, and preferably with managing workforce plans, FTE growth forecasting, or workforce skills data.
