The Svitzer Group is looking for a Site Superintendent to be based in Cheoy Lee Shipyard in Doumen, China, reporting directly to the Site Manager.

The core responsibility of this position is to assist the Site Manager supervise the newbuilding activities in the yard and ensure the delivery of safe, timely newbuild vessels according to specification, and related projects owned or managed by the Company. All cost related to the newbuildings (VO’s) must be approved in the Head office.
The right candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility as Site Manager in future newbuilding projects.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting the Site manager managing the project execution at the yard and ensure the delivery of safe and timely newbuild vessels owned or managed by the Svitzer. You will be part of the Site Team responsible for day to day operations at the site specifically the main tasks are:
- Ensure that the vessels are built according to specification
- Ensure that the vessels are built in best possible quality
- Ensure that the vessels are delivered on time
- Ensure that the Region and stakeholders feel properly supported during building of the vessels
- Prepare weekly reports, VO’s, MOS’s and project post mortem
- Coordinate review of newbuilding plans with ship designer, yard, plan approval office and Class- Travel to attend to FAT test if required
- Prepare newbuilding vessel delivery in coordination with the Regions personnel
- Ensure that proper records for all newbuilding projects are maintained and submitted to vessel, Region and Head office at the completion
- Prepare Operation Manual for the vessels
- Inspection of shipyards, suppliers and subcontractors for other projects, if required
- Give input to review of newbuild specification, makers list, innovation, cost optimization and simplification, newbuilding manual and reports

The ideal candidate will have experience in newbuildings from shipyard, Classification Society or Owner, alternative Chief Engineer with tug experience.

- A positive and proactive attitude, curiosity, humbleness and an appetite for constant learning
- Cooperative team-player
- Proactive and constructive approach to stakeholders
- Committed to meeting deadlines and the expectations from the global organization
- Good at keeping focus on complex issues and enjoy taking ownership and responsibility

- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as good negotiation skills
You are a motivated and driven individual who understands how to build mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders. You are proven as a skilled communicator and an acknowledged team player with a high degree of personal integrity.
Finally, our working language is English, and you must be fluent in writing as well as verbally.
