København Ø

At DFDS, we are committed to a climate-neutral future, and are working proactively to make this a reality for all areas of our business and for the customers we serve. To accelerate the pace of our green transition, we have established a central Decarbonisation Team, with the mission to drive alignment across all of our decarbonisation activities company-wide. In practice, that means setting strategies and targets, establishing the pathway to net-zero, and managing the portfolio of projects – technical, commercial and operational – related to decarbonisation.

The Decarbonisation Analyst role is primarily focused on setting Net Zero and Science-based Targets and GHG reduction pathways from both a climate impact and funding perspective. As an Analyst, you will report to the Head of Decarbonisation Pathway, and play a key role in conducting analysis and directly supporting other team members in project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with Data Analysts and Financial Analysts internally to support the development, maintenance and monitoring of the DFDS Decarbonisation Pathway
  • Use and develop modelling tools of DFDS emissions trajectories, making quantitative analyses of the climate and financial impact of measures included in or evaluated for our climate plans and of decarbonisation pathways for transport.
  • Analyse and dissect data and knowledge from a variety of sources including scientific studies, external reports and models
  • Perform analytical work on historical emissions and emissions projections of DFDS’s operations
  • Break down global targets into incremental targets and distributed KPIs
  • Support the qualification and scoping of proposed decarbonisation projects, making business cases based on robust data, evidence and argumentation
  • Present and communicate the results of analysis in a compelling and informative way

Requirements:

  • A relevant Master’s degree. Candidates with an engineering or economics background are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, an ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, and good knowledge of Excel or other modelling tools.
  • Relevant professional or academic experience working on the technical issues related to decarbonisation of transport and the transition to a carbon neutral economy
  • Familiarity with the GLEC framework and SBTi guidance and tooling, or similar
  • Detail-oriented, with a reputation for producing excellent quality work
  • Strong interpersonal and team-working skills and an ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to write in English fluently, accurately and concisely. Other European languages are considered a bonus.
  • Experience conducting lifecycle analyses is a plus
  • Experience in the fields of electrification or circularity is a plus

We prefer that you are based at our HQ in Copenhagen, and you will report directly to the Vice President, Head of Decarbonisation.

About you

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience within shipping, transport and logistics.

You are self-driving, problem solving and pragmatic, with respect for colleagues and the confidence to work productively with specialists, but a willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into the detail when needed.

We expect you to be motivated by being part of a small, diverse and high-performing team who embrace challenge and change, and in which all team members relish working top to bottom in their roles.

Why?

Successful candidates will join a talented, passionate, innovation- and delivery-focused team, within a company that is committed to sustainability. All team members are expected to take ownership of their own responsibilities, further develop their own role, and contribute to the development and direction of the team as a whole.

Interested?

If you have any questions regarding the position, please contact Sophie Kim Chapman, Vice President, Head of Sustainable Logistics, phone: +45 9137 4056
