Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our GeostructuresdepartmentAs our new Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will be part of a growing team focused on the delivery of challenging ground engineering schemes that support and enable the construction of new railways, ports, renewable energy facilities, highways, and high quality new buildings. We also advise clients on the impact of new work on the existing natural and man-made environment to enable new projects to proceed in a sustainable and safe manner. This is a young team but contains engineers who are experts in their field and will be able to guide and develop your career as you add new skills to those you bring to Geostructures.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:Providing geostructures advice and design to a multi-disciplinary project team taking technical geotechnical delivery for projects or sections of large infrastructure schemesPlanning and conducting Geostructures analysis using various proprietary toolsGuiding less experienced engineers to deliver analysis and designProviding new ideas or approaches to ground engineering challengesCarrying out research and development of new ideas and products to enable Ramboll to provide sustainable solutions for societyAssist in marketing our skills to identify and secure exciting new projects and contracts that build on our existing industry and market relationshipsYour starting point for constant growthFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:Good quality BEng degree with reasonable geotechnical engineering or engineering geology content.A masters degree or higher that focuses on geotechnical engineering or engineering geology would be of benefit but this can be replaced with good industry experience of 5 yearsProven ability to carry out complex analyses retaining structures or complex foundationsPast experience of rock engineering and/or geo-seismic engineering would be a benefitKnowledge and demonstrable experience of the use of Python to solve technical problemsWritten and oral communication skills in Danish is beneficial for this role but not essentialGood written and oral communication skills in EnglishGood appreciation of the commercial controls needed to deliver work in a manner that meets our business objectivesPersonal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include the ability to investigate new ideas and not rely on tried and trusted methods; good oral communication skills to enable interaction with colleagues of varying experience and background, both in person and online; ability to interrogate your own work and that of others to ensure that delivery is accurate and meets our high standards.Welcome to our Transport divisionRamboll is a global transportation consultancy and we work on some of the biggest and most innovative infrastructure projects in the world.
